End of the year PTC Slots

Dear parents,

Here ends another wonderful year of learning at Fountainhead school. Following are the final appointment slots for tomorrow’s PTC. Kindly go through the annual report which was shared with you yesterday. Also, you need to bring your child’s school ID Card and bearer cards as they are to be submitted to the school. Students who are yet to return the library books, kindly bring them to school tomorrow. The report of PYP exhibition has been sent with your child which is to be brought back to school tomorrow. It’s a humble request to you to adhere to the allotted time slots.

Homework- 19th April

Read and follow the instructions step by step.

  1. Think about who would be the best teacher for You.
  1. Open the Teacher Description Cards – TeacherDescriptionCards
  1. Rate the cards from 1st priority to 4th priority. (There are no right or wrong answers.) These priorities are your opinions. Write the pointers of description in the given graphic organiser – Priority. For eg: According to me, Fair will go in 4th Priority and organised will fall under 2nd Priority. 
  2. Fill the given worksheet- “TheGreatestTeacherforMe” 

This will help us to teach in a way that you appreciate.


1.Please bring your FA notebooks to school tomorrow.

2. Bring portfolio pieces/ write comments, if not done yet.

3.As we approach towards the culmination of this year, it’s time to make some sweet memories. We would like to end this journey with a Pot Luck Party. Progress students are requested to bring food (as per Friday food policy) for 25 people. You also need to bring disposable dishes and spoons.

Highlights and Homework – 21st March

PYP Ex :  Students were divided into groups and they shared their learning from the Kachchh trip, keeping in mind the main idea of the unit along with the aspects of culture.

Then, in groups, students sorted their understanding on a chart, the 10 things they saw or places they visited during the trip, 7 quotes which they heard from the local people, artisans, guide etc during the trip, 5 ideas which they understood, 3 questions they still have and 1 main idea of the trip. This helped them share their ideas and have a detailed understanding of the places visited at LRK, GRK as well as Ahmedabad.

You need to complete your trip booklet (writing quality reflections in important)

Create a poster/collage/painting/poem showcasing your idea about India’s culture. It can be done on an A4 or A3 sheet.(To be submitted tomorrow) Please note that this should be a quality piece or else you will be required to redo the homework.


Highlights and Homework- 10th March

PYP Exhibition:Students shared the understanding of the quotes assigned to them with the class. They created their own definition of culture and filled the frayer’s model as a group.  After that they read definition of culture by various anthropologists from different parts of the world and made further connections with their definition of culture. They also started reading an article and developed and deepened their understanding.


Maths: Students will solve Maths Mix Bag homework posted by Rachna ma’am.

PYP Exhibition :- Write the cyclic reflection for the current cycle, in 20 sentences(minimum) , in your PYP exhibition journal. Keep in mind the cyclic reflection checklist and tick for Cycle 2, in the sheet. The sessions taken in the cycle are :

  1. Making of the life map
  2. Play by the teachers and reflection of the play through the Four R’s worksheet.
  3. Understanding of history and its importance through videos and quotes.
  4. TDT exploration, exploration of different centres in the classes.
  5. Bus stop activity, Understanding culture through the activity.
  6. Quotes on understanding of culture.

Math: Complete the Ex- 22.1A and 22.1B, if not done

Highlights and Homework-9th March

Exhibition– Students explored the pictures of different aspects of culture and tried to categorised it in different ways like religion, architecture, food, clothing, etc. Students discussed few quotes from the following link: with their group members.

Math: Students solved the word problems of Ratio and Proportion.


Complete all the word problems, if not done(all 17)

Solve the word problems from ex.- 22.1A and 22.1 B (read the examples before solving)



Highlights and Homework- 8th March


Students reflected upon the exploration they had in the previous session on five different stations. They discussed within the classroom the main idea behind this exploration. After further scaffolding, they could conclude that they had explored the aspects of the transdisciplinary theme ‘Where we are in place and time’ through this activity in order to understand it better. Later, in their groups, students discussed the history of their family values, traditions, beliefs etc. They could observe that these things vary from family to family. After discussion, they acknowledged that these things differ from family to family based on the culture they follow. Also, these aspects of culture have been transferred from older generations to newer ones.

Highlights and Homework – 7th March

PYP Exhibition: Today , the students understood why is it important to study and know about History through the following videos.

Later students explored various stations and reflected their understanding in the format of ‘I see, I think and I wonder.’

Math: Students measured the height and shadow of their peers. They also measured the height of the shadow of a tall object. By using their knowledge of Proportion, they were able to calculate the actual height of that particular object.
