Deliberating steps to the new year

Deliberating steps to the new year

Dear Parent,

Welcome to another enthusiastic year of Grade 6!!

Students were seen enthusiastically greeting their teachers, meeting their friends after their arrival in the school. Once instructed, they were taken to the classes where they had their hands full with the day’s agenda.

The day started by performing an activity for the allocation of seats by the students where they were supposed to pick up a chit and follow the written instructions. Then it was followed by the ice breaking activity called I wish my teacher knew. Then as a core part of smooth functioning of the classroom, activity on clarifying expectations of students from classmates and teacher was done. LP’s and attitudes which are expected to be demonstrated by the students in each and every activity or the learning of the class, was discussed and portrayed by the students in the form of a writing or an illustration. Later, they discussed the routines and procedures for the class followed by setting the essential agreements. Class Mission statement was constructed with the help of students through an activity, where they brain stormed for the questions with relevant words and phrases. Once the important words were extracted they constructed and formed a paragraph indicating the mission statement of the class. At the end of the day, there was an interactive session where the students shared their experiences from summer vacations which helped the teacher to bond with them.

Please note that Cycle 1 starts from tomorrow. Please refer the time table available on FSapps.
