Dear parent and little champions,

Highlights:

Students started peer checking their summer homework and LWE Day 1 today. They played an interactive game of dumb charades to guess the Learner profile attributes. A discussion of the same was taken where they stated what comes to their mind when they think of a particular LP attribute.

Homework:

  1. Students have to write a short passage about their first day at school (2017) using rich adjectives. (minimum 5 lines)
  2. Students have to make to make 5 posters of the following 5 LP attributes. (This maybe handmade,  google slides or any software) Be creative

It should include a picture that illustrates what the LP means, one line descriptor and the header (LP name).

Homework

Display for the student bulletin board – Take an A4 size colour sheet. Paste your early years photo, one recent photo and one photo of what you desire to be. Write about your strengths, weaknesses, likes, dislikes, why you want to be what you want to be or anything that you want others to know about you. For eg: One photo when I was about 4 years old, one recent photo when I am about 11 years old and one photo of a plane or a pilot clip art to show that I want to become a pilot along with a short write up on all three photos.

Language:

Write a short paragraph on “My first day at school” (5 – 6 lines minimum).

Checklist for writing:

  • Minimum 5 adjectives.
  • Use connecting words and phrases.
  • Add at least two dialogues to the piece.
  • Use at least two adverbs.
  • Use appropriate beginning, middle and end.

 

Note: Kindly bring dictionary/thesaurus on Monday.

  1. Create a display piece to be put up under student bulletin board. This piece must have your full name, date of birth, likes, dislikes, interests, hobbies etc. You may choose to paste few pictures on it too. Use the A4 sheet given to you for this task.
  2. Bring a passport sized photograph to be put on classroom display.

Homework

  • Think of a learner profile that you demonstrated very evidently during your vacations. Write the narration (50-60 words) of the incident and give evidences. You can also include anecdotes of your parents.
    The homework has to be done on an A4 paper.

Dear parents,

“Warm greetings to all of you!”

I hope you all had a refreshing and rejuvenating summer break. I welcome you all to Early years and  the new exciting academic year of 2017 – 18 with lot of enthusiasm and zest! Most of the students were seen settled on the very first day of school. They showed mixed feelings and emotions which I could relate with the poem  below :

Kindergarten is all about playing, learning and growing, I assure safe, secure and conducive learning environment for all the students through experiential, play based  learning. My team and I look forward to work in collaboration with you all, in shaping the lives of young children by achieving our school’s mission statement. You can write to me or  to the Homeroom teacher of your child at any point of time using the daily diary if you have any concerns. We will be communicating through the daily diary, blog and seesaw, I request you all to check them on regular basis for daily updates.

Manisha Naik

Team leader of Early year

I am commerce graduate from Maharashtra University from Dalmia Lions College, Mumbai. After joining fountainhead the learner in me excited me to pursue B. ed.. My first job was with the Design Techniques in Mumbai, as an Assistant Manager. After my husband’s transfer to Surat, I enrolled my son in Fountainhead School. I was inspired by the first orientation meeting as a parent and thus decided to join the school as a teacher in 2008. I admired the schools’ teaching methodology which connected me to the students. I was appointed as the Jr. KG Coordinator in 2011.I nurture and guide the teachers in classroom management as well as the curriculum.I enjoy swimming, dance, listening to music and I am also interested in designing outfits and visual arts.

Payal Jain

Assistant Team leader

Payal is a graduate in the field of Psychology from Mithibai college, Mumbai. Has done my B.ed in 2000 from  Lucknow university. The artist in her made her  pursue a diploma in Commercial arts and the learner in her motivate  to do  M.B.A after she had kids. She is delighted to be a part of Fountainhead school since 2012. She is energetic,enthusiastic and creative. She loves art and craft and listening to music.

Parvin Samnani

Homeroom teacher- Jr. kg Red

Parvin  believes that “Learning doesn’t have age”. She has done B.A and B. Ed. in Sociology from SNDT University, Mumbai. She has been associated with Fountainhead School since 2011. Her passion is to read books and listen to music. She loves to interact and spend time with kids. She is enthusiastic and curious to learn new things.

Tanya Dhingra

Homeroom teacher- Jr. kg Blue

Tanya has done MA and BA in literature from SNDT college , Mumbai. She has worked as an editor in Women Research center at Mumbai. She has joined Fountainhead school in 2016 and was appointed as an HRT.

Dharini Upadhya

Homeroom teacher- Jr. kg Orange

Dharini has completed Masters in English and B. Ed. from VNSGU. She is enthusiastic by nature and loves the unpredictability of life. Dharini joined FS in 2015. She enjoys travelling, adventures and cooking. She likes children around her and believes firmly in the principle that learning is a lifelong process and hence enjoys learning new things.

Honey Goklani

Homeroom teacher- Jr. kg Yellow

Honey Goklani has done her masters in Human Resource Development from VNSGU, Surat. She loves to be with the kids and this is one of the reason she joined the school community. She is very patient with the kids and likes to contribute in their growth.

Trishna Sarkar

Homeroom teacher- Jr. kg  Green

Trishna joined Fountainhead School as a Special Educator in 2013. She was assigned homeroom for Jr. kg in 2016. She has done B.A. and Diploma in P.P.T.C. She is in the field of teaching since 2006. She loves drawing, cooking and listening to music.

Rita Meghrani

Homeroom teacher of Jr.kg- White

Rita joined Fountainhead School in 2013 and is a Commerce graduate, from Rajasthan University. Previously, she worked with L.P Savani School for a short stint of 5 months.

 

Juhi Arora

Homeroom teacher of Jr.kg -Violet

Juhi is a graduate in BBA from Navnirman Institute of Management, Surat. She started teaching while she was studying and wanted to explore more. This quest lead her to join the school set and hence she commenced working with FS from July ’16 as an Early Year teacher. She loves to explore things and places and always tries to seek opportunities from her surroundings.  She believes that learning is a lifelong process and there’s no end to gain knowledge from divergent sources. She loves kids and gels up very well with them.  She has taken home tuitions and has taught in coaching classes for 5 years. Juhi is passionate about imparting her knowledge and also learns during this process. She loves travelling, listening to music and reading.

Tasnim Batliwala

Homeroom teacher of Jr.kg- Indigo

Tasnim Batliwala is in teaching job since 2007 and is associated with this institute since Feb 2014. She has completed her graduation from P. T. Science College, Surat with Chemistry as the principal subject. She likes to cook, read books, watch TV and make friends.

Priyanka Reliawala

Resource teacher

Priyanka Reliawala was born and brought in Pune and has done her MBA (HR) from Pune too. Professionally, she is from the banking background. She is associated with Fountainhead from 2012 as a parent, but joined the institution as a teacher in 2016. Her aim in life is to overcome her weaknesses and convert them into her strength.

Shalini Nandkumar

Arts Team leader

Shalini has been in the teaching profession since 2008 and is working with Fountainhead School since 2012. She is PYP Arts Team Leader. She has done her “Diploma in Commercial Arts” from Government Polytechnic for Girls. She has attended IB workshops of CAT 1, 2 and 3. She has facilitated SAIBSA job alike session in Feb 2017.

Palak Joshi

Music teacher

Palak Joshi:She has done her Visharad in Classical music (vocal). She can play keyboard, harmonium and tanpura. Palak has completed her B.Com with Advance accounts and auditing and completed CA IPCC. She has also done her Visharad in classical Dance (Bharatnatyam). She has passed out with A+ in Elementary and Intermediate exams. She is the Music teacher for Jr.Kg and grade 1.

 

Vipul Ariwala

Dance Sir

Vipul has done “Dance education programme” from Jay Nayak dance institute. He is a professional choreographer and organises events and is a part of Jay Nayak Dance institute. He is the Dance teacher for Jr.kg and will teach dance to Gr.3, 4 5 and 6 in Art and Design Special.

Physical Education Team Leader

Priyanka has been working with Fountainhead School since 2010. She has completed her Food Technology from Government Polytechnic, Goa. She enjoys dancing and reading nonfiction books. She is passionate about teaching.

Ankit Reshamwala

PE Coach

Indigo, Blue.

Ankit Reshamwala is a PYP PE educator. He has completed his B.com and has done his B.P.Ed from Maliba university. He is a certified tennis coach. He is a member of the All India Tennis Associaton, School games & is a Mahakumbh Selector & National Refree.
He will be coaching the following Classes for PYP PE :

Vishnu Bhagat is a PYP PE educator and a qualified Gymnastics instructor. He is a national level Gymnast. He has participated in various sports like yoga, dart, kho-kho and also is a marathon runner. He has completed the Independent Coursework in Life Saving Techniques (LST), Tiller-controlled Power Boat Handling (PBH-T) by National Institute of Water Sports. He will be coaching the following Classes for PYP PE :

Juganu Shah

PE Coach

Juganu Shah is a PYP PE educator. She has been working with Fountainhead school since 4 years. She is a  Reebok Certified Fitness coach and has done her Diploma in Yoga from Bombay university as well as Yoga therapy certificate course from Mumbai. She is currently pursuing the Nutrition and Physical Activity for Health course by University of Pittsburgh.
She will be coaching the following Classes for PYP PE :

After reading, form 3 sentences which must have a noun phrase, a prepositional phrase, an adjectival phrase and an adverbial phrase along with verbs and articles.
