Day 4

UOI

Revision of Skeletal system was done in class.

Math

The teacher posed a problem in front of the students and together they worked to find the solution to the problem. In finding the solution, students understood the purpose behind using a ruler and learned how to use it. They also made their own ruler and understood the importance of standard unit of measurement. They measured different objects available in the class using the same ruler. The students worked with centimeters (cm) as their standard unit of measurement.

Note: Kindly send the ruler back to school with your child.

Language

The poem ” Daddy fell into the Pond” from the chapter 19 ‘Funny Poems’ was read aloud by the teacher followed by choral reading. The answers to the questions given at the end of poem were discussed.

Write answers to the questions marked in the class in your notebook.

Transdisciplinary Theme: How we organize ourselves

Central idea: Signs and symbols are a part of human-made systems that facilitate local and global communication.

  1. Exploring the Central Idea– Teacher wrote the central idea on the board and discussed the important words from the central idea.
  2. Field trip to Kansar restaurant:

    Students went to the Kansar restaurant and observed/understood a specialised system of communication which was created and used by all Gujarati Thali restaurants in Gujarat.

    Homework

    Language Notebook: Complete Q2 and 3 given in Empowering English Reference book (pg no. 3).

  1. Math notebook – Measure the objects with the ruler made in school. (Use the previous table where non-standard units of measurement was used)
  2. Solve the given math worksheet.

Day 4 Monday 

UOI: Learners solved a worksheet related to Digestive system. Worksheet was checked in the class along with the learners.

Language: The teacher demonstrated how to make a rhyming poem using a mind map. Later learners made their own poem.

The poem related to the sense of SIGHT from Chapter 1 ‘The Magic Paintbrush’ and the questions given in the exercise were discussed and answered orally.
