Read aloud of the book  “Milk and cookies ”  was done.

Poetry unit was concluded with a Summative Assessment task.

[Highlight Of The Day]

Language EE: Learners were tuned into the new strategy of “Visualizing and Inferring”, where they inferred the images from the PPT. The learners had fun however it also helped them to infer the figurative (implied, not literal) interpretation of the symbol when no words were used.

Math: Students tuned into measurement unit by exploring different objects and equipment that can be used for measuring.

Homework

UOI: Bring a picture of any place that you have explored/visited. Followed by writing a short passage (4-5 lines) to describe your experience.

Language: Students will visualize in their mind and infer at least 3 figurative interpretation of the following by jotting it down in the EE notebook:

  1. “colors”:  Red, blue, green, white, black, gold, pink and brown
  2. “Seasons”: Summer, winter, autumn, spring

E.g.: Yellow color symbolizes happiness, sunny weather, jaundice

Monsoon: gloomy, greenery – nature,  dirty, farming, fried food.

Math: Learners were given the opportunity to explore different objects and equipment that can be used for measuring. They learned that they can measure length and weight of the object. A question was left to them to contemplate about “what do they measure when you are measuring liquid/water?” In other words, “I am measuring _______ of the bottle or ______ of the tank of a car?” The discussion will be continued in the next session.

Language: Learners were introduced to inferring visual clues. They learned how to make inferences using signs, symbols, colours, seasons, facial expressions and body language.

Read aloud of the book Beatrice’s Goat by Page McBrier was taken up.

Homework message for the students:

Math: Answer in your Math notebook – Where do you use/see the measurement in real life?

Language: In your EE notebook, visualize in your mind the image for below mentioned words and pen down the words, phrase or sentences you can use to describe them.

Language

Students were introduced to the new strategy of “Visualizing and Inferring”, where they inferred the images from the presentation. The learners had fun however it also helped them to infer the figurative (implied, not literal) interpretation of the symbol when no words were used. e.g: Weighing scale represents justice, fairness, balanced.

Math

Students were tuned into ‘Measurement’ through work stations where they measured different objects using different tools/instruments.

Homework

Language

Students have to punctuate and parse Week 4 Day 4 and Day 5 from their Language With Ease reference book in their Language Writing notebook. They also have to do the Weekend home task for Week 4 in the LWE reference book itself.
