Language: The summative assessment for the poetry unit was conducted.

Math: Students followed the 1st step of the Math Cycle, constructing meaning, for the concept- rounding off the decimals. They also transferred the constructed meaning into symbols by solving few sums in the Math notebook.

Language Writing: Learners discussed sensory words and its impact on the descriptive writing. Teacher performed I Do of creating a descriptive passage using sensory words and then learners tried it in the group using the word bank provided to them.

Language Reader: Learners continued reading the reader ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’ using the comprehension strategy ‘Making inference using the text and visuals’

UOI:Learners presented their formative assessment work using the advertisement chosen by them. They shared the types of media and the role of media with evidences identified by them. Further, they shared their opinion about the advertisement.

Homework:

  1. Go through the entire sensory word list. Search meaning for any unknown words that you come across.
  2. Write a 10 line passage on The Garden using the sensory details as learned in the class today.

UOI:

  1. Complete the 3-2-1 worksheet discussed in the class on the function of Media.

[Highlight Of The Day]

Language – The summative assessment for the poetry unit was conducted today.

Math – Learners practiced sums of addition and subtraction of decimals. (Transferring meaning into symbols stage of the Math cycle)

UOI – Learners started to watch the making of the movie Lagaan in order to understand the creating an art is not very easy and the artist has to have a good conviction about his idea of making the artwork, and also has to face a lot of challenges to accomplish his dream.

Homework

UOI – Watch the remaining half of the ‘Making of the movie – Lagaan’. It is shared with you online.

Note

  • Do not bring pantry coupons tomorrow for HMB. Come prepared for sports day.

Day 3 – Tuesday 

Language: The 7th chapter – ‘Mr. Change-About And The Enchanter’ of the reader ‘The Magic Faraway Tree’ was read. The students tried to guess the meaning of the difficult words using the context clues.

Math: Teacher role modeled the multiplication of a 3-digit number by 1-digit number and a 2-digit number (with regrouping) using area model.

UOI: Discussion related to tasks and gallery walk was taken in the class and students were introduced to 6 simple machines.

Homework

Language: 

  1. Do the creative writing on the topic – Imagine yourself in Africa/China/Antarctica.

         The following questions will help you build on your ideas:
                  What would you wear?
                  Where would you live?
                  What would you eat?
                  If you walked out, what would you see?

2.  Punctuate the sentences given on Page 80 of Empowering English Book.

 

Math:

             Solve the following word problems.
a) A bus carries 56 passengers in one trip. How many passengers are carried on 8 trips?
b) A stamp album can hold 52 stamps. How many stamps will 4 albums hold?
c) A school has 24 classrooms. The capacity of each class is 48 students, find the total number of students in the school.
