HIghlights and homework – Day 3 – February 13th

UOI – Learners presented their culture capsule to the class.

Language writing – Learners were introduced to 6 traits of writing and the writing process. The rubrics for narrative writing was also discussed with them. Later, the teacher along with the student worked on creating the narrative piece. Together, they completed the pre-writing part by filling up the story element strip.

  1. Read the comic book / Graphic novel you have chosen from the library. Write the 3 findings about comic-strip on the post-it provided to you.
  2. Complete Day 3 of transition words.
  3. Revise / Redo as per the feedback provided for story element booklet.

Draw the camp green lake as described in the first three chapters, on an A-4 Sheet and attach this sheet to your Language notebook.

Answer the following questions in your Language notebook:

  1. What was the philosophy behind the concept of Camp Green Lake for bad boys?
  2. What were the various dangers that the camp inmate would face at Camp Green Lake?
  3. What was the image that Stanley and his family had about the camp?
  4. Why was the curse put on the Yelnats family?
  5. What happened with Stanley’s great-grandfather? Was he lucky or unlucky according to you?

Note: Work on the mega presentation. It will be conducted on 21st February 2018.

UOI: FA was conducted.

Math: Students were introduced to Graph paper and how to use it. Teacher role modeled the creation of a Bar Graph using Graph paper and students were given a hands-on experience as well.

Homework:

Math: Represent the recorded data in the graph paper given.

Your graph should have proper labelling, title and the key.

Revise all the tables(2 to 9)

Make corrections in the homework worksheets distributed today.

Prepare for Mega presentation –

Read the book thoroughly.

Choose the appropriate form of expression.

Prepare the speech, don’t forget to add important details like author’s name, the main character, etc.

Practice speaking in front of the mirror at least twice to build confidence.

As informed, be mindful of public speaking criteria as well.

As the presentation date is 21st February, I’m expecting you to complete atleast 3/4th of the book by now.

Ch. 31 –  Why did Miggery Sow bellowed the song – “I ain’t the Princess Pea, But someday I will be.”?

Ch. 32 – Why were dreams called foolish? Give 2 such examples from the book. (one of Gregory and the other one of the rat)

  1. Language: Read the 2nd and 3rd chapter of ‘Holes’. Draw the camp green lake as described in the first three chapters, on an A-4 Sheet and attach this sheet to your Language notebook.

Answer the following questions in your Language notebook:

You need to make a character chart about Stanley’s character and update it with his physical features and his behavioral characteristics. You need to keep on updating the chart throughout the book.
