Day 1, Tuesday

Stars Of The Day : Aryan Bhagat and Vivaan Desai 😀

Highlights

Language: Students started reading Chapter 12 of the reader independently, using the strategy: Monitoring Inner Conversation

UOI: Students explored the digital library Getepic! And read books related to Energy unit

Math: 

Students revised the concept of area and perimeter and solved few sums.

Homework

Math: 

Task 1: Solve the following:

1. Area of a square is 81 sq. cm. Find the perimeter of the square.
2. Create a square or a rectangle such that the perimeter is 48 cm and it is painted, the cost incured shall
be minimum. The cost of painting 1 sq. cm is Rs 10.
3. Rhea wants to fence her rectangular garden. The length of the garden is 25 meters and breadth is 20 meters. Find how much fencing
material will she require?
4. The perimeter of a square is 36 cm. What will be the area of the square ?

Read chapter 11 page 134 to pg 139 from the reader and jot down 3 questions that pop in your head regarding the events in the story.

Making connection of unit of measurement with real life.

Homework:

Solve the following in your Maths notebook:

1. A wireless router supports a range of up to 47 km indoors.

A) Calculate that range supported in metres.

B) Calculate that range supported in centimetres

2. When storing and stacking laptop computers you need to take into account the mass of the object. A typical laptop computer has mass of about 4 kg.

A) Calculate that mass of computer in grams.

B) Calculate that mass of computer in milligrams.

Students comprehended the poem “ The Blind Boy “ from Empowering English reference book (page 66)  and made connections with different types of risks and challenges encountered by children worldwide.

Homework:

Task 1
Research about physically challenged people and their success in their field. Write your findings in the Language E.E notebook.
Task 2

Read and comprehend Chapter 6 “Marooned” given on page number 57 of your reader “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” and answer the following questions:

1.Why did the Potts think of leaving Chitty Chitty Bang Bang marooned on the island ? Were   

   they happy about it ?

2. When does Commander Caractacus Pott usually wear his secret face ?

3.What worried the family for their trip to France ?

4. Why is the situation described as dreadful and dangerous at the end of the chapter ? e) Jot down 2 new words you read from the chapter along with their meaning (Use dictionary). Also frame a sentence using each.

5. Write the gist of the chapter in 5-6 sentences. (Use the Strategy- Determining Importance)
