PTI SLOTS – 13TH & 14TH JULY 2018

Dear Parents,

Kindly check the PTI appointment slots for 13th and 14th July 2018.

As we are looking forward for the holistic development of the child, I would request  you to feel free and note down important points that you want to discuss with the HRT (academic and non academic).

We would appreciate if both the parents attend the PTI. Please reach 5 minutes before your time slot.

Few Important points regarding the meeting
  • Each slot will be of 35 minutes (30 minutes discussion and 5 minutes transition time)
  • Students will accompany and wait outside the class, while the PTI discussion is going on and join the meeting for goal setting. 
  • It is compulsory for both parents to attend this meeting.
  • Please ensure that you have discussed and mutually decided (along with your child) on 2 goals (1 behavior and 1 academic).

Highlights of the week- 25th to 29th June 2018

Highlights of the week- 25th to 29th June 2018

[Highlight Of The Week] [Unit Of Inquiry]
  • Students prior knowledge about the new unit was checked through a learning engagement- ‘Mystery box.’
  • Students reflected their understanding of the term- ‘being healthy’. They wrote their understanding and later class discussion was done.
  • Students were tuned into the new unit with the read-aloud of the book  ‘What do I need’ by Bobbie Kalman. Here they were introduced to the 5 aspects of ‘Well-being’- Personal, Physical, Social, Mental and Spiritual.

Language

  1. Pre-assessment of Language was conducted.
  2. The revision of the Grade 1 concepts were done by playing online games, worksheets, showing videos, etc.
  3. Dictation was conducted.

Math

  1. Pre-assessment of Math was conducted.
  2. The Grade 1 concepts were revised through board work, using manipulatives, solving worksheets, etc.
  3. Introduction of the number series 1000 was done using Place Value kit.

Note

  1. Homework will be sent regularly, please ensure that your child does the HW and brings it to school on regular basis. Please use the folder to send the worksheets back to school.
  2. Kindly send 2 big napkins daily with your child.
  3. Kindly bookmark the link given below. It will help you access timetable, nucleus, blog etc. easily. For timetable, click on the link and then go to the PYP Timetable icon and then select your child’s section.

  1. Kindly send 1 extra pair of clothes (along with undergarments) and a towel in a labelled polythene bag. Make sure that you label all the belongings. The students may have rain dance on any of the coming days.

  • Language and Math summer homework were discussed and checked as a class.
  • Classroom routines and procedures were discussed with the students.
  • Learner profile attributes and Attitudes were revised. Then students demonstrated their understanding and created the displays of Learner profile attributes and attitudes.

Language

4. We will be posting the dictation words on every Friday. The students need to revise/learn the spellings at home. They will get a week to learn the words and next Friday dictation test will be taken.

Grade 2: Highlights!!

Grade 2: Highlights!!

Dear Parents,

A very warm welcome to the new academic session 2018-19.

  • Students greeted their teachers enthusiastically, they were also excited to meet their friends after their arrival at the school.
  • They assembled and were given the introduction of their HRTs and SSts. Once instructed, they were taken to their respective classes where they had their hands full with today’s agenda.
  • The teacher introduced herself which was followed by an ice-breaking activity.  It helped students and teacher to get to know each other and make them comfortable of the surrounding.
  • Later, they had rich discussions on the Six Positive Behaviour for Learning (6 PBLs). Once done, they discussed the routines and procedures for the class. They were also introduced to the concept of ‘Fair and Equal’ and framed Essential agreements for the class.

Important note:

  1. Send an extra pair of clothes( along-with undergarments.)
  2. Napkin to be send daily in the bag.
  3. Label all the belongings of your child.
  4. Kindly send homework books/sheets in the folder.
  5. Please send a table mat as students will be having their lunch break in the class (as table mats are washable it will be easy for students to wash).
  6. Those who have not submitted the summer HW are required to bring it Monday (11/06/2018) without fail.
