 Q. 1 Solve the word problems given below in Math notebook.

a) Samaira  had 17 dolls.  She gave 4 dolls to her sister. How many dolls does she have now?

b) Ram’s mother baked 37 cookies for party. There were 3 cookies left. How many cookies were eaten at the party?

c) 65 students are going for a field trip. The first bus can only take 23 of them. How many students need to wait for the second bus?

d) Ram  picked 16 oranges from the garden. Sam picked 10 oranges from the garden. How many more oranges  did Ram pick than Sam?

e) Aarav donated 11  books and Raju donated 8 books  to the library.  How many more books did Aarav donate than Raju?

Q. 2  Draw the clock for the time given below..

a) Quarter past 1     b)  Half past 12    c) Quarter to 7

Unit Of Inquiry:

  • Under the transdisciplinary theme ‘How we organize ourselves’ students are  learning about origin of the product, changes products go through and distribution of the products.
  • Students visited Sumul dairy to observe the process of different dairy products.
  • They also learned to make flow chart.

Language

 

  • Students enhanced their listening, reading and speaking skills by enacting the story ‘A little mouse’ followed by few activities related to the same.

 

  • Read aloud was conducted in the class.
  • FA was conducted.
  • Dictation was given.

Math:

  • Subtraction sums and word problems involving  single digit was done.
  • Inverse relation between addition and subtraction was introduced.
  • Students learned O’ clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to.
  • Estimation and rounding off was done.

 

Homework

Language

Task 1- Make a flowchart of strawberry shake in  UOI book.
Task 2- Read chapter 1 – The hidden treasure and also write 2 common nouns and adjectives from the reading booklet in Language notebook.

Unit of Inquiry

  • The new unit under the Transdisciplinary theme ‘ Who We Are’ commenced. The main focus of the unit is to know oneself. Students  will learn about their physical and emotional characteristics, abilities and interest which will help them to develop their identity.

 

Language

  • Chapter 11 ‘Ryan’s room’ was completed.

 

Math

  • Term 1 summative assessment was conducted.
  • Learners constructed meaning for regrouping addition sums.

  • Poem 2- A Caterpillar and a Spider from the reference book Empowering English was completed.
  • Poem 3- The cow jumped over the moon from the reference book Empowering English was commenced.
  • Dictation was given.
  • Read aloud was conducted in the class.

 

Math

 

  • Revision of  ordinal numbers, ordinal number names, skip counting by 3, 5 ,7 was done.

 

  • Students were introduced to the real life application of addition of 2 digits numbers.
  • Odd and Even numbers were introduced.

Unit of Inquiry

The students revised their understanding about the properties and application of air through various experiments.

  • Dictation was given.
  • Read aloud was conducted in the class.

 

Math

  • Revision of expanded form of numbers. Students also learned to write expanded form of the numbers.

  • An event was held where parents participated to enhance students understanding of the unit by sharing information about different authors.
