HIGHLIGHTS OF CYCLE 19

On Day 3 i.e 12th October Students were enthusiastic and full of energy to participate with zeal in the celebration of Sports Day to develop a sense of friendliness and team spirit.

Language – In language, we focused on the figure of speech -Hyberbole and Four Hilarious poems where students were divided into groups and were expected to prepare for the Presentation i.e Recitation of the poem with actions and voice modulation (chorus if possible.) The purpose of introducing these poems was to Recognize and understand figurative language and underlying meaning and purpose of the poem.

Language Formative Assessment was conducted to check the comprehension skill of the students.

Mathematics – This cycle, we continued with reviewing and practicing integer operations. Additionally, students were trained to construct meaning and work on solving integer word problems step by step with written statements, calculations and answer with units.

UOI – Advancing further into exploring the unit of puberty, students participated in the class discussion about physical changes they undergo during adolescence.After explaining about the physical changes we focussed on moving to emotional changes through a wheel game activity and taking the session on topics such as Peer Pressure and its understanding and making connection with examples.

Write a short reflection [100 words] on some of the emotional changes experienced by you.

Language:

Go through the poem ‘The Fly’ from the chapter ‘Smiling with Similes’ from Empowering English’, Page 16.Match the similes written in the poem and create a poem of ‘The Giant’ on Page 17 of Empowering English. The task can be done in the book itself.

Math:

Complete the worksheet given to you today in your Math Notebook.

A moment to reminisce…

It’s always joyful to recall the past memories and experiences through photographs. Go through your childhood pictures and have a hearty discussion with your parents about all of what you can encounter in these pictures about yourself. If available, you may choose to go through your parents’ childhood photographs as well. I hope you have a wonderful family time back at home through this engagement .

Students have to use any ICT tool like Google Doc, Google Slides, Powtoon etc. to create a year-on-year life journey and mention the changes that they were able to observe in themselves. (Please note: This homework’s submission date is 27th November 2017

Math:

Students have to complete the worksheet shared on drive in their Math Notebook.(Ignore, if already done)

Language:

Students have to write the different genres of poem with its meaning in their Language notebook as discussed in class.
