Highlights of the week 12th March – 16th March

Circle Time:

Revision of all the rhymes done till date.

Read aloud:

Read alouds from Sr. KG monthly read aloud list.

Math:

  • Revision of all the mathematical concepts done till date.

Language:

  • Introduction of “ar” digraph was done.
  • Words taken- car, bar, jar, far, scar, star, hard, yard, bark, dark, charm, sharp, scarf, ark, park, shark, cart, cartoon
  • Revision of all the digraphs till date

UOI:  

TDT- Sharing the Planet.

Central Idea- Animals adapt to survive in their natural habitat.

  • Venn diagram (to compare the two animals of the grassland habitat was conducted).
  • Diorama of grassland habitat was made in the class.

As per the class inquiry next habitat was taken. Hence, inquiring further into the animals and their features of that habitat through books and videos.

              

Homework:

Language:  Writing of the following ‘ar’ words twice in the notebook.

(card, barn, hard, tart, scarf, harm, yard, marsh, shark, farmer, charm, March, cartoon)

  • Math:

Workbook page numbers: 16,18,21

 

Important points :

  • Kindly send swimming costume, towel and an extra pair of uniform for pool time.
  • Please note that the library books will be issued on Monday and ensure that you return the books on time.
  • Every Wednesday is a fruit day.
  • Kindly ensure revision of taught concepts in Math.
  • Kindly ensure daily revision of tricky words (reading and writing).
  • Kindly conduct at least one read aloud everyday.
  • Give writing practice for the taught number names (One to Ninety nine only).

  • Introduction of the concept “half past”
  • Revision of all mathematical concepts taught till date through centers and workbook.
  • Formative assessment of numbers Forward(1-99) and backward (99-1) was taken.

LANGUAGE:

  • Revision of digraphs “ai, oa, ie, ee, or, ng” was done.
  • Revision of tricky words with sentence writing in notebook.

UOI :

(Rotation and Revolution)

TDT : How the world works

Central Idea : The Earth’s natural cycles influence the activity of living things.

  • Students were given exposure to the world map.
  • Self reflection of the unit was taken.

 

Homework:

Language: Write the following ‘ th’ words (2 times) in the notebook:

Th” words – (then, than, them, this, that, with, smooth, they)

Math: Firefly number book pg no-. 36, 38, 43

 

Important points  for night out :

Kindly find the list of items students need to bring:

 

  • Toilet accessories.
  • One pair of clothes, one nightwear & footwear
  • Thick and Warm blanket and bed sheet (Mattress and pillow will be provided from the school)
  • Sweater/ Jacket/ Inner-wear (thermal, warm clothes/socks ). All students should wear at least 4 layers of clothes (thermals, half sleeves t-shirt, full sleeves t-shirt and jacket/ sweater), should wear 2 pairs of socks (1 cotton and 1 woolen) and a pair of gloves.
  • Bottoms: Thermals followed by 2 layers of pants
  • Woolen caps/ monkey caps/ scarves
  • 2 layers of covers (Bedsheet and Blanket)
  • Mosquito repellent
