- Complete the Narrative Writing task, assigned on Google Classroom, in your Language notebook.
- Check the BODMAS problems assigned yesterday (picture to be sent later, check your email), and correct the mistakes in your Math notebook.

Cycle 7 marked conclusion of our first Unit of Inquiry – Arts.
In Math, after a detailed revision of all the four operations of fractions, you attempted the Summative Assessment of Fractions.
In UOI, a brief discussion was taken up about the learning engagements throughout the unit, which was followed by the End of Unit Reflection.
In Language, you continued to build upon the Narrative Writing skills by revising the elements of a story through a short text. Subsequently, you learned to describe a character using the descriptive word list (focusing on the inner qualities).
As we discussed in class today, complete the following tasks over the weekend:
- Solve Mixed Bag HW cycle 8 in your Mixed Bag notebook. Leave the graph question (Q.2).
- Answer questions 1, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 13, from Empowering English (pg 3), in your language notebook (use the descriptive word list).
- Complete the assignment (posted on Google classroom).

Now that Grade 5 students are proud and excited owners of their own Chromebooks, it is the right time to have an orientation meeting with parents about the use of the internet in this digital world. Parents have an important role in helping their children use digital technology safely and responsibly. Schools can also assist parents to support their children in the digital world. Hence, we have scheduled a session on Digital Sensitization with parents.
This session is scheduled on 18th August 2018 and it is focusing on our unit – ‘Digital Media’ under the TDT – How We Organize Ourselves.
Note that your attendance is compulsory. You are also requested to carpool due to parking constraints in school.

Safety and well being of students is of utmost importance to us at Fountainhead. To this end, we had undertaken a safety project last year to improve safety and well being measures at school.
The next step that we have in line is to to invite parent volunteers for an audit of safety practices at school.
What is a safety audit?
A safety audit is to monitor and analyze an institution’s operations in order to determine how well it conforms to a set of specific criteria.
In this case, the parent volunteers of the safety audit team will assess the school’s safety measures based on Aarambh India’s checklist

- Cyber Safety
- Social Safety
- Emergency Measures
How will the process work?
Once we receive responses from the parents, a short meeting will be arranged to discuss the details. The Safety Audit committee members, i.e. parents will be divided into groups as per the preferences chosen by them. Each group will be conducting the audit for a specific department, will be completing the audit and bringing it to conclusion by writing comments for the chosen department.

The audit along with the parent orientation will be done in the first week of September. (Date will be informed to you later). The parents might choose to do the audit on the same day or some other day in the same week. Important point to note is that parents should be willing to spend a day in school for the audit.
