One Day At School (ODAS) – 2017-18

Dear Parent,

We would like to invite you to spend One Day At School (ODAS). The ODAS program at Fountainhead, gives parents a first hand experience of their child’s learning at school. The ODAS program will start from 1st September, 2017 and continue till 31st March 2018. On any particular day, a maximum of 4 parents (different grades) will be allowed for ODAS. Please note that only one parent i.e. either the father or mother is allowed for the visit. Timings for ODAS are 10:15 am – 1:30 pm.

Please call Ms. Richa Panchal at the front desk or mail us at surat@fountainheadschools.org to register for ODAS slot. Registration will be confirmed as per availability of slots. Please do not email HRTs, write on Nucleus or on blog to register.

Points to be kept in mind during the ODAS visit:

  • A schedule will be provided at the front desk regarding allotment of classes and respective timings.
  • Kindly submit your mobiles at the front desk before commencing the visit.
  • Parents are requested to quietly observe the class, without any discussion with the teacher.
  • No personal discussion about the child will be entertained.
  • Parents are requested to fill a feedback form (available at the front desk) at the end of their visit. Any relevant comments must be entered in the feedback form rather than discussing with the teacher.

Invitation to conduct an activity at “Creative Mela 2017-18” on 29 September, 2017

Dear Parents,

Creative Mela is an event, which provides students with a platform to explore different art forms either hands on or by exploration. Our aim is  to unfold the mindsets of students towards various  art forms. Hence  our attempt is to give them an opportunity to come across versatile artforms containing visual as well as performing arts.

Here we are, all charged up and ready for new ideas & fun with lots of learning.

We would like to invite parents to conduct an Art workshop during “CREATIVE MELA 2017-18”.

The event will take place in school premises on Friday, 29th September 2017.

 

Students are divided into three age groups.

Group A- Grade 3 and 4

Group B- Grade 5 and 6

Group C- Grade 7 to 10

 

During Creative Mela, students will get to experience activities such as:

Aforeementioned workshops will be conducted this year..

“हिंदी भाषा दिवस “१४ सितंबर को मनाया जाता हैं पर इस वर्ष हमारे विद्यालय में  हिंदी भाषा दिवस १२ सितम्बर’ १७ को  मना रहा है |  

हिंदी दिवस मनाने का उद्देश्य  यह है  कि विद्यार्थियों को  हिंदी भाषा का महत्त्व पता चले , हिंदी के प्रति  रूचि बढ़े और अच्छी शब्दावली सुनने का अवसर मिले |

गत वर्ष  विद्यार्थियों ने आपके द्वारा किए गए performance का आनंद लिया इसलिए  इस साल भी हम आपको अपनी प्रतिभा दिखाने के लिए आमंत्रित कर रहे  हैं |

हम आशा करते हैं कि ज्यादा से ज्यादा अभिभावक हिस्सा ( Participate) लें |

 

निम्नलिखित सूचनाओं को ध्यान में रखें |

Language: Group of 5 students read aloud story books on fairies, monsters, ogres, princess, giants and reflected on their personalities by bifurcating it under physical , mental and emotional/behavioral attributes.

UOI: Scavenger hunt was taken up for tuning into the new unit where the students reflected their experience based on their own explorations.

Homework

Math:

A. Students will answer in their notebook “where one use/ see measurement in real life?”

B.  Solve the following word problems in the maths notebook:

  1. Mr. Shah bought a house worth Rs. 7,50,05,000. He spent Rs. 55,09,104 on furnishing his home. Find out the total amount of money he spent on his new house.  Write the amount he spent using Indian number system.
  2. Saara purchased a bicycle worth Rs. 8676 on loan. If the amount is to be repaid in 18 installments, how much will she pay monthly to the bank? Verify your answer.
  3. Aahan went to sleep at 9:35 pm. He woke up eight hours later. At what time did he wake up?
  4. Convert into 24 hrs format : 9.30 pm
  5. Convert into 12 hrs format : 17:00 hrs

Language: Students have to complete the worksheet given.

Note

Students will “Explore” about our patriotic Indian freedom fighters and present on them creatively in front of the class on Monday – 14th August 2017. They can perform dance, skit, mime, sing a patriotic song, a speech or a famous dialogue from any movie or of a leader related to Independence day.

[Highlight Of The Day]

Language EE: Learners were tuned into the new strategy of “Visualizing and Inferring”, where they inferred the images from the PPT. The learners had fun however it also helped them to infer the figurative (implied, not literal) interpretation of the symbol when no words were used.

Math: Students tuned into measurement unit by exploring different objects and equipment that can be used for measuring.

Homework

UOI: Bring a picture of any place that you have explored/visited. Followed by writing a short passage (4-5 lines) to describe your experience.

Language: Students will visualize in their mind and infer at least 3 figurative interpretation of the following by jotting it down in the EE notebook:

  1. “colors”:  Red, blue, green, white, black, gold, pink and brown
  2. “Seasons”: Summer, winter, autumn, spring

E.g.: Yellow color symbolizes happiness, sunny weather, jaundice

Monsoon: gloomy, greenery – nature,  dirty, farming, fried food.
