Celebration of World Space Week!

Celebration of World Space Week!

Grade 2 students got the opportunity to explore space, in a workshop held by the expert team from COSMOS – Astronomy Education and Research Organization. Students were asked questions about planets to check their prior knowledge,  we the teachers were amazed to see how knowledgeable our students are. Later, students were shown videos about the planets and stars which left them in awe. Students were also assigned an activity to stick the planets in sequence on a black slip and make crowns out of the slips. Students enjoyed a walk on the moon through virtual reality.

CHECKING RFID CARD IN BUS

CHECKING RFID CARD IN BUS

Dear Parents,

This post is a reiteration of the importance of RFID card.

Kindly be informed that it is mandatory to show the RFID Parent Pass at the time of pick up from the bus stop. The bus conductor will be using RFID card reader in the bus which will be used to check the card, at random, when a parent/guardian/attendant receives the child at the bus stop. Kindly flash the card as indicated in the attached image.

If the card is found to be duplicate a fine of Rs. 500/- will be deducted from the student imprest deposit.

Note that, 15th October onwards, parents without RFID card will not be handed over the student, and the student will be brought back to school. Parents will have to collect their child from the school, in such a case.

Having a duplicate RFID card will also be considered as not having a card and the procedure as mentioned above will apply.

Please send your RFID card to school if registration is pending as yet, ignore if already done.

Thank you, for giving us hope that we can all do it together and build the reading culture in our students.

You are just not an evaluator or simply a spectator but an important and prestigious, awaited audience for our students.

Without your smiling faces, encouraging and constructive feedback to students, it would have been challenging for them to present with confidence and verve, and most importantly read.

Unit of Inquiry

Transdisciplinary Theme: Where we are in place and time

Central Idea: Various factors contribute to the uniqueness of a place

  • Tuning in was done with an activity where students went to different places in Fountainhead School and found the location of the place, unique features of the place and asked few questions like has the place changed over the period of time and how.
  • Different maps were shown to the students including maps of Gujarat, India and World map. After that, they did an activity to find different places on the flex map.
  • Students were given an exposure to various types of reports as they will be learning ‘Report writing’ in this unit.

 

Language

  • Students were tuned in the reader – Nine hats zoom out activity.
  • FA of simple tenses was taken. Students wrote 3 sentences for each word they choose.

 

Math

  • Revision of the concepts of number strand, addition, subtraction and measurement strand (time) was done.

 

Homework

  • Read the sentences and state whether they are facts or opinions in Language HW notebook – Fact or Opinion
