Parent Teacher Interaction (PTI) 2018-19

Parent Teacher Interaction (PTI) 2018-19

Dear Parent,

Greetings!

We have begun with the new academic year 2018-19. The students have settled and the year has begun with a gung-ho! With the objective of knowing your child better, we have the PYP Parent Teacher Interaction(PTI) on 13th & 14th July, 2018. This year again we have combined goal setting with PTI.

Just to reiterate, PTI is a platform to establish partnership with parents to support student learning as well as their holistic development as a child. This meeting will also help parents understand how to bring home our school’s philosophy. The teacher will be discussing your child’s behavior, class participation, work habits, progress, areas of improvement and set goals for the first term. We will be sending a questionnaire with your child on 5th July (Thursday) which needs to be filled by the parents (both the parents need to discuss and then fill in the questionnaire). The questionnaire is to be submitted latest by 9th July (Monday). However, early submission is always welcome!

Some important points that need to be noted are:

  1. Research points out that involvement of father is crucial to child’s progress and sense of well being hence both the parents need to be present for the meeting.
  2. SST teams (PE, ILT and Arts) will not be available during the PTI meetings. However, if you wish to meet the AS/PS Coordinators and Executives you may do so with prior appointment (through Daily Diary). They will be available in the PYP Office (Block 5, First Floor)
  3. The child will not be a part of this interaction, so if possible the child should not accompany parents to the school. However, in case if there’s no one back at home with the child, then he/she can come to the school. In such cases, we’ll be sending the child to play areas where a didi will be taking care of them.
  4. We will not have a formal goal setting for Early years. After the PTI, if required the teacher will be discussing about few specific things with the child to help him/her bring changes in the routine back at home
  5. Parents are expected to reach the grade corridor, 5 minutes prior to the booked/allotted slot.
  6. Parents of wards, with siblings, in PYP/EY Grades will be able to book slots from 4th July, 2018 (Wednesday) onward. For the rest of the parents, slots will be opened on Friday, i.e. 6th July, 2018 (Friday). (We will have 10 slots per day. You are requested to choose slots as per your preference).
  7. The slots are to be booked latest by 10th July, 2018. Post 10th July, HRTs will be allotting the slots to the parents as per availability.

In case of any query please communicate with the homeroom teacher through daily diary.

Regards,

PYP leadership team.
