Students reflected on their understanding of the Human Body by drawing different body parts in an outline of the human body provided to them in the form of a worksheet.

Later, a discussion based on the reflections was led in the class by the teacher.

  1. There were originally 3,867 bottle caps in a jar.  Reet removes 796 bottle caps from the jar. How many bottle caps are left in the jar?
  2. Saumya picked 3,456 apples and Zaina picked 2,456 apples from an orchard in a day. Tushya picked 1,246 apples from the same orchard the very next day. How many apples were picked by all of them.
  3. Jaanav has 3,400 crayons. Dhruv has 2,910 crayons. How many more crayons does Jaanav have than Dhruv?
  4. Manaat had 3,840 blocks, but he lost 577 of them. How many blocks does he have now?

Day 2

Pre-assessment of Language  was conducted.

Students were tuned into the new unit through a series of engagements and reflections were taken at regular intervals.

Homework –

Math –  Revise tables .

Solve the following word problems:-(math homework notebook given.)

  1. There were three children working together in a group. Each child received 56 stickers as a token of appreciation. How many stickers did that group receive in all?
  2. If there are 8 children and each  child has 87 pencils. How many pencils are there in all ?
  3. 7 friends went to the market to buy marbles. Each child bought 49 marbles.  How many marbles do they have in all?

LEAP – ICE BREAKING ACTIVITY AND INTRODUCTION

LEAP – ICE BREAKING ACTIVITY AND INTRODUCTION

With lots of enthusiasm and a long wait for LEAP classes, the teacher started with an ice breaking activity in the class by introducing herself and later the students followed by introducing themselves.

Thereafter, the students were divided into 5 groups (4 in each) according to their roll numbers. The teacher gave a story book to each group and asked them to read the story and fill in the graphic organizer provided. The Graphic organizer had many elements like the name of the book, author and illustrator’s name, genre, main characters of the story, focused learner profile and attitudes.

The purpose of this activity was to help the students understand the importance of teamwork and enhance communication skills and social skills. Students were cooperative and respectful throughout the session
