Read aloud of the story ‘ Corduroy ‘ written by ‘Don Freeman  ‘ was done to reinforce the 7-habits and attributes of Learner Profile.

Read aloud of the story ‘One fine day  ‘ written by ‘  Nonny   Hogrogian ‘ was done to reinforce the 7-habits and attributes of Learner Profile.

Students were tuned into the new unit through a series of engagements and reflections were taken at regular intervals. Later on, a discussion based on the reflections was led in the class by the teacher.

Students reflected on their understanding of the Human Body by drawing different body parts in an outline of the human body provided to them in the form of a worksheet.

Homework – 

Solve the following word problems :

  1. Patricia has 43 boxes of crayons. Each box holds 6 crayons. How many crayons does Patricia have?
  2. How many toes do 8 children have?
  3. One spider has 8 legs. How many legs will 18 spiders have?
  4. There are 46 birds perched on the branches of a tree. How many feet are there on the branches?

Pre-assessment of Language  was conducted.

Math –  Revise tables .

Solve the following word problems:-(math homework notebook given.)

  1. There were three children working together in a group. Each child received 56 stickers as a token of appreciation. How many stickers did that group receive in all?
  2. If there are 8 children and each  child has 87 pencils. How many pencils are there in all ?
  3. 7 friends went to the market to buy marbles. Each child bought 49 marbles.  How many marbles do they have in all?

Multiplication tables were revised daily through oral chanting.

LEAP – ICE BREAKING ACTIVITY AND INTRODUCTION

LEAP – ICE BREAKING ACTIVITY AND INTRODUCTION

With lots of enthusiasm and a long wait for LEAP classes, the teacher started with an ice breaking activity in the class by introducing herself and later the students followed by introducing themselves.

Thereafter, the students were divided into 5 groups (4 in each) according to their roll numbers. The teacher gave a story book to each group and asked them to read the story and fill in the graphic organizer provided. The Graphic organizer had many elements like the name of the book, author and illustrator’s name, genre, main characters of the story, focused learner profile and attitudes.

The purpose of this activity was to help the students understand the importance of teamwork and enhance communication skills and social skills. Students were cooperative and respectful throughout the session
