Students were tuned into the new unit through a series of engagements and reflections were taken at regular intervals. Later on, a discussion based on the reflections was led in the class by the teacher.

  • Pre-assessment of Language and Math was conducted.
  • Read aloud was taken up.

Solve the following word problems:

  1. There were three children working together in a group. Each child received 56 stickers as a token of appreciation. How many stickers did that group receive in all?
  2. If there are 8 children and each  child has 87 pencils. How many pencils are there in all ?
  3. 7 friends went to the market to buy marbles. Each child bought 49 marbles.  How many marbles do they have in all?
LEAP – ICE BREAKING ACTIVITY AND INTRODUCTION

LEAP – ICE BREAKING ACTIVITY AND INTRODUCTION

With lots of enthusiasm and a long wait for LEAP classes, the teacher started with an ice breaking activity in the class by introducing herself and later the students followed by introducing themselves.

Thereafter, the students were divided into 5 groups (4 in each) according to their roll numbers. The teacher gave a story book to each group and asked them to read the story and fill in the graphic organizer provided. The Graphic organizer had many elements like the name of the book, author and illustrator’s name, genre, main characters of the story, focused learner profile and attitudes.

The purpose of this activity was to help the students understand the importance of teamwork and enhance communication skills and social skills. Students were cooperative and respectful throughout the session

  • Revision of the mathematical concepts like addition/subtraction/time telling/multiplication was done in the class and the homework for the same was assigned.
  • Read aloud of the story ‘The astronomer‘ written by ‘ Rabindranath Tagore‘ was done to reinforce the 7-habits and attributes of Learner Profile.
  • The teacher discussed the answers to the questions given in homework and it was self-checked by the students.

  • गुरुवार को कक्षा में Notebook सही जगह पर रख दें |
  • लेखन कार्य करते समय मात्राओं पर ध्यान दें |
  • लेखन कार्य में ३ से ज्यादा गलतियाँ होने पर गृहकार्य फिर से लिखवाया जाएगा |
