Field trip to Sewage treatment plant for Grade 12 ESS Students

Dear Students,

For the ongoing unit of ESS -we will be visiting sewage treatment plant situated near Bhesan on day 1(18th December,2017) which is on Monday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

So kindly bring your school trousers and Id card for the field trip, also carry your water bottles, a pen and notebook. You will be expected to reach Rendezvous(Assembly area) by 10:30 am.

Note: Students without school trouser will not be allowed to attend the field trip.

Dear parents,

We are foraying into a new initiative of having a Fruit Break on every Wednesday. This starts from the coming Wednesday(20/12/17). Please send only fruits on that day instead of the regular meal as home meal tiffin. You may send a whole fruit we will cut them in the class.

This initiative has been taken to inculcate the healthy habit of eating fruits.

Transdisciplinary theme: How we express ourselves

Central idea: People use different art forms to express their culture.

  1. Students revised- LOI- 3 Preserving the traditional art form (Responsibility). They reflected their understanding by answering the questions given in the journal.
  2. Formative assessment was conducted.
  3.  Students started with their independent research work.  


  1. Comprehension – Students read the given passage and answered the questions on the worksheet.
  2. Formative assessment  and dictation was conducted.
  3. Started with the Reader “Nine hats”. Students read chapter 1 to 3- from the reader ‘Nine Hats’ using the reading comprehension strategy- “Monitoring inner conversation”.


  1. Students practiced real-life word problems related to the calendar and time.
  2. The students learned about reading the time – o’clock, half past, quarter to, quarter past. They watched certain videos and understood the concept of 5-minutes.
  3. Formative assessment was conducted.

Dear Parents,

Unit Of Inquiry:

Students unpacked the central idea through and the second line of inquiry for the ‘Media’ unit.


Homework was discussed. Later, read aloud of the book ‘Up and Down’ by Oliver Jeffers was done.



Students have to read the passage ‘Ruins in the forest’ from their Empowering English reference book and answer the questions (Q.4 is to be completed in the reference book itself while rest are to be answered in Lang E.E notebook).


Check whether the following numbers are divisible by 2, 3 and 4:

Unit Of Inquiry:

Students have to share a news with the class on Monday. Make sure they evaluate the news and understand it well so that they can confidently share it with their peers.

Note: Please send board games, odomos and most important a gigantic, cozy, fuzzy blanket to cover them up for the night.
