Solve the following word problems in your Maths notebook.

  1. Find the perimeter and area of a rectangle with width 6 feet and length 14 feet.
  2. Find the perimeter and area of a square with side 11 meters.

Language:

Answer the following questions in your language notebook(Questions are from Ch 4, 5, 6 of Holes):

  1. What kind of tattoo does Mr.Sir have? What does this tell you about him?
  2. Why do the boys call Mr.Pendanski “Mom”? Does this nickname suit him?
  3. Why don’t the boys believe Stanley when he tells them he stole the sneakers?

Read the chapters 8 to 12, note-taking and summarizing for the same.

Change in cost of PYP Ex trip to LRK, Grade 6

Change in cost of PYP Ex trip to LRK, Grade 6

Dear Parent,

Kindly note that due to calculation error from our end:

  1. Approximate cost for LRK trip will now be Rs. 10500/– per student
  2. Earlier the cost given was Rs. 7900/- It has increased by Rs. 2600/-
  3. The increase in cost is due to addition of transport cost (AC Sleeper Bus) which was not taken into account earlier.
  4. The actual cost per child for LRK trip last year (2016-17) was Rs. 10400/-. This year also it will be approximately the same.
  5. The above cost is calculated on the basis of 145 students.
  6. The difference amount will be adjusted in your imprest account as per the actual expense incurred.
  7. Detailed itinerary, departure time & things to carry will be shared again soon.

 

Cost bifurcation:

Vendor’s cost Rs. 7400/- per child It includes food, guide charges, accommodation and other entry charges during the entire trip.
Transport cost Rs. 2700/- per child The cost is of 4 AC sleeper bus which includes, fuel charges, daily wages & extra driver’s wages (as we have hired 1 extra driver due to night travelling), & toll tax.
Miscellaneous charges Rs. 300/- per child Any unplanned expense to be incurred during the trip.

Dear Parent,

It is our pleasure to announce a grand day where students will showcase their talent and learning through Tarang  (Kala Utsav, A.S performances is now “Tarang”).

We heartily welcome you all to come, visit and encourage students during their performances.

Points to consider:

  1. Date: 24th Feb, 2018, Saturday
  2. Venue- Fountainhead school
  3. Time- 9:30 am to 11:40 am (please look at the schedule for the specific event in table below)
  4. Students will reach school by 8:30 am, click here for bus route. After the event students will leave with their parents. Drop off transport will not be provided.
  5. Students need to bring their breakfast. Only for cooking students canteen will be available form 10:00 am onwards.
  6. Parents need to carry Bearer card without fail.
  7. Performances will be held in 2 time slots; Please refer to the schedule (given below) as per the activity of your child and reach the venue on time.

 

  Important Note:

Over the last 1-2 years, parents tend to start walking out of the venue as soon as their kids performance is over. This is disrespectful to the students, teachers and other parents and also creates disturbance at the venue.

Therefore we will be making some changes for you as an audience.

  1. You are requested to be a responsible audience by attending a full performance slot. No slot is longer than 1:30- so you are expected to spend at least that much time is seeing all the performances in that slot even if you child’s performance is over.
  2. If the slot is from 9:30 to 10:30 am you are expected to be seated at the venue before 9:25 am and you will not be  allowed to leave before 10:30 am from the venue.
  3. Security will be posted at each venue to ensure the same. Please do not disrespect them by trying to leave before the slot is over. The same applies the other way also – you need to be in time for the slot. If you are late, you will not be allowed into the venue.  Also the Bearer card will be checked at all the venues as well as school entry.

1. Complete the life cycle chart from home and bring it to school tomorrow.

2. Get the exhibition contract signed by your parent. Ensure that they are reading it thoroughly before signing.

4. Culmination Celebration – Book Review

  1. Prepare for the culmination celebration (Mega Presentation). Keep the following in mind: Choose the appropriate form of expression.Prepare the speech, don’t forget to add important details like author’s name, the main character, etc.

    Practice speaking in front of the mirror at least twice to build confidence.

    As informed, be mindful of public speaking criteria as well.
