Home Visits

Home Visits

Dear parents,

We introduced home visits formally in senior school in the last academic year and it has proved to be an important milestone in helping teachers connect with the students and their families.

Most parents have warmly welcomed this idea and we look forward to your support for this initiative, this year as well.

As mentioned earlier, home visits is a platform that will help the teachers interact with  you, understand your goals and aspirations for your child, the relationship the child shares with the parents, siblings and other family members; the environment back at home, the kind of upbringing and exposure the child has, the schedule of the child etc.

This will help teachers connect better with the students and their families and will help in developing the right approach for planning the way forward in guiding and mentoring the students.

Mentor teachers of your ward will seek your appointment through a phone call for a mutually convenient time – before or after school, or on weekends. The teachers will be visiting your home for approximately 45 mins and it would be desirable if they could meet all the family members (all the members who stay in the house) and interact with them along with the student being there.

Parents are not expected to offer anything to the teachers. You may offer tea, coffee, lemonade, buttermilk etc. out of geniality.

We believe that you will support the school in this endeavor in taking  a step forward towards knowing your child better and forging a way ahead towards his/her bright future.

Regards,

Bhumika Parmar

This program is one of the main initiatives taken by the NBHM. Its main purpose is to spot Mathematical Talent among pre-university students in the country. Students with an aptitude/interest for Maths specifically are strongly recommended to take up this test.

The exam will be held on Sunday, August 19, 2018, between 10 AM to 1 PM at different centers all over India. In order to be eligible for the RMO, it is mandatory that students qualify through this centrally administered PRMO. No other independently administered examinations will be recognized.

The PRMO will be a machine-correctable 3-hour duration test of 30 questions – some 2 marks, some 3 marks, and the remaining 5 marks. Each answer is a 1-digit or 2-digit answer. Each question has an answer which is a number with one or two digits. Sample PRMO questions and Sample OMR sheet showing marked answers can be downloaded from here.

The Kendriya Vidyalaya and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya schools will be exam centers. Certain other exam centers may be selected carefully and will be mentioned on the website.

A carbon copy of the answer sheet (OMR) will be given to the student after the exam; students can check their answers as against the answers which will be uploaded on the MTA website.

  1. NOTE: The OMR sheet MUST be retained by the individual student till the conclusion of the Mathematical Olympiad Programme for 2018-19. This will be used for verification purposes for all steps of the Mathematical Olympiad.

From each region, the top (up to) 300 students from Classes 8,9,10,11 and the top (up to) 60 students from Class 12 will be eligible to write the Regional Mathematics Olympiad exam. For the KV, JNV schools which have a countrywide coverage, the number to be selected is up to 5 percent from Classes 8,9,10,11 and up to 1 percent from Class 12, of the number of registrations.

Based on the Regional Math Olympiad exam, the final list of 30 top students from Classes 8,9,10,11 and the top 6 students from Class 12 plus the next 5 girl students will be sent by each regional coordinator to HBCSE by November 30, 2018. This will be done after completing re-evaluation (provision for which is mandatory). HBCSE will announce the list of students eligible to appear for Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO) 2019 from all regions by December 07, 2018.

The INMO exam will be held on January 20, 2019, and will be conducted by each regional coordinator and the answer papers sent to HBCSE.
