What is “Connect”?
“Connect” is an open forum where school management shares information and updates with parents and parents can share their concern with the management.
What is IBDP?
The IB Diploma Programme (DP) is an academically challenging and balanced programme of education. This program is offered to grade 11 and grade 12 students.
IBDP Result announcement detailed report will be sent by today (21st July 2018) and you are requested to go through it before coming for the meeting.
- Kindly be seated 10 minutes before the start of the session in Y Box.
- “Since it is DP Result specific session, you can address any concerns related to the current results” & placements and board related queries
- This is not a platform to raise any child-specific issues or any other issues.
- (Another session will be held in early September for the – General Academic & Administrative Issues.)
- CARPOOLING is highly appreciated & recommended since we have limited parking space.
The School Games (S.G.F.I) Roller speed skating tournament is schedule on 28th July 2018 at SMC Skating rink, Jariwala compound, Katargam, Surat.
All the students that are interest to participate for the same will have to give the selection trials that are scheduled on Tuesday 24th July at 2pm. The selection trials will be conducted during the stayback. The students need to email me the registration for the selections latest by Monday 23rd July, 2 pm.
Only those students whose name will be received through the email (before 2 o’clock) will be allowed to do stay back and give the trial.
Note: Competition is only for the Quad and Inline category for both boys and girls. Age groups are as follows:
Under 11(grade 3-5) Born on and after 01-01-2008 only.
Under 19 (grade 11-12) Born on and after 01-01-2000 only.

UOI: Learners were introduced to mapping skills and methods of navigation.
Math: Click on the link and solve the sums in Math homework notebook:
- Read and comprehend the story “The Sage’s daughter” given on page number 9 of your “Empowering English” reference book.
- Go through the glossary.
- Use a dictionary if needed
- Write the answers to the questions given on Page 12 in your EE notebook.
- Mention the date and question number clearly.
- Write neatly in complete sentences.

UOI: Learners revised and revisited the central idea, lines of inquiry, key concepts, skills and all the activities including summative task requirements for the ongoing unit.
Math: Learners practiced multiplication sums.
Dictation was conducted.

Language: Find meanings of the below mentioned words using a dictionary:

Krishna stays in Delhi and he wants to visit Haryana to attend a wedding. He didn’t get the train tickets so he has to go by road. After 4 days he has to travel to Karnataka for office work.
a) He checked on google map that it will take 2 hours and 7 minutes to reach Haryana. He started his journey at 2:58 pm. At what time will he reach Haryana?
b) The distance from Delhi to Haryana is 123 km. If the distance from Delhi to Karnataka is 17 times more than the distance from Delhi to Haryana, find the distance from Delhi to Karnataka in km.

While digital devices can provide endless educational content, unlimited screen time can be harmful. With this thought in mind, we aim to continue with our initiative of No Screen Day every Monday.
No one learns in the same way because of different learning styles and different abilities. Technology provides great opportunities for making learning more effective for everyone with different needs. It is important to acknowledge that students are interested and engaged in using technology and hence we integrate some forms of technology in the classrooms to make teaching and learning more effective. Afterall, student learning is paramount to us.
Keeping this in mind, we have amended the policy. In order to avoid any learning loss, the teachers will be allowed to use some or the other forms of technology during classroom instructions on No Screen Day as well. This will help us cater to the varied needs of the students. But, a very close check will be kept and it shall be used only where any loss of learning is foreseen.
In order to successfully implement the No Screen Day for our students we seek your support. We are sure that with your support, together we will be able to create a conducive learning environment that will have a perfect balance between health and technology and ensure that the students refrain from using the screen at home.
