One Day At School (ODAS) – 2017-18

Dear Parent,

We would like to invite you to spend One Day At School (ODAS). The ODAS program at Fountainhead, gives parents a first hand experience of their child’s learning at school. The ODAS program will start from 1st September, 2017 and continue till 31st March 2018. On any particular day, a maximum of 4 parents (different grades) will be allowed for ODAS. Please note that only one parent i.e. either the father or mother is allowed for the visit. Timings for ODAS are 10:15 am – 1:30 pm.

Please call Ms. Richa Panchal at the front desk or mail us at surat@fountainheadschools.org to register for ODAS slot. Registration will be confirmed as per availability of slots. Please do not email HRTs, write on Nucleus or on blog to register.

Points to be kept in mind during the ODAS visit:

  • A schedule will be provided at the front desk regarding allotment of classes and respective timings.
  • Kindly submit your mobiles at the front desk before commencing the visit.
  • Parents are requested to quietly observe the class, without any discussion with the teacher.
  • No personal discussion about the child will be entertained.
  • Parents are requested to fill a feedback form (available at the front desk) at the end of their visit. Any relevant comments must be entered in the feedback form rather than discussing with the teacher.

Invitation to conduct an activity at “Creative Mela 2017-18” on 29 September, 2017

Dear Parents,

Creative Mela is an event, which provides students with a platform to explore different art forms either hands on or by exploration. Our aim is  to unfold the mindsets of students towards various  art forms. Hence  our attempt is to give them an opportunity to come across versatile artforms containing visual as well as performing arts.

Here we are, all charged up and ready for new ideas & fun with lots of learning.

We would like to invite parents to conduct an Art workshop during “CREATIVE MELA 2017-18”.

The event will take place in school premises on Friday, 29th September 2017.

 

Students are divided into three age groups.

Group A- Grade 3 and 4

Group B- Grade 5 and 6

Group C- Grade 7 to 10

 

During Creative Mela, students will get to experience activities such as:

Aforeementioned workshops will be conducted this year..

Compensation details for Service Program 2017-18

Dear All,

Please note that Service session is a mandatory module for all students as it is compulsory requirement for both MYP and DP programme.

Students will have 3 week community service program which will have 6 sessions in all. As informed earlier, sessions will be conducted on the weekend (Saturdays- 3 to 5 pm & Sundays- 9 to 10:30 am)

What if you miss any sessions:

Session missed Consequence
Missed 4 or less sessions

Will be compensated in next batch. Students who have missed 4 or less sessions in July will have to attend sessions in Aug or september. (dates will be informed by Events In-charge)

If compensations sessions are missed, service activity outside school. Eg. Gavier lake cleaning, plantation or similar activity

Missed more than 4

Attend next batch (all 6 sessions).

If not attended, it will be compulsory for the student to go for a one day trip for service related activity.

 

  1. In case you are not able to attend the sessions assigned to you, please mail the reason to events@fountainheadschools.org.
  2. Respective event In-charge will compensate and allocate other set of dates to you. Once that is done, no further changes will be accommodated.

Students have been allocated sessions as per their choice of activity. Please note that it is compulsory for all the students to attend all 6 sessions, if not it will lead  to failing condition for the respective academic year. This means that your child will not be promoted to the next Grade.

Dates for upcoming sessions:

Expectations from the students:

  1. Every student must come to the service session in FS school uniform. The students must have the LONG PANTS on and NO SHORTS will be allowed, for both boys and girls. If any student arrives wearing the shorts (Uniform shorts or any other) will have consequences.
  2. Each student must carry their own snack (following the friday food policy).
  3. NO GADGETS (mobile phones, mp3/4 players, ipods, ipads, laptops, cameras, smart watches) will be allowed to these sessions.
  4. Each student is expected to show complete discipline and dedication towards the program and must be self-motivated to explore and bring better progress in each of their subject areas.
  5. Reflection (can be pictures also) will have to be posted on blog, the guidelines of which will be explained to the students during their orientation sessions.
  6. Completion of each student’s service program will be examined on the basis of their attendance to the sessions plus basic level of involvement which will be certified by the adult supervisors.
