By tomorrow most of you will have received your copy of the school magazine- Raconteur. Happily! Anxiously! Excitedly, we present to you the first edition and hope you will love it too!
Expressing gratitude from the bottom of our hearts we genuinely applaud and appreciate all the effort put in by you for making Raconteur beautiful!
For this issue of Raconteur we received a record number of entries and our joys knew no bounds, but here comes the glitch…. The number of pages in the magazine are limited and we couldn’t fit all the articles at once but at the same time we didn’t want to let your diligence go in vain. So… We decided that we will use remaining articles in the next edition of Raconteur i.e. the April issue of the magazine.
In case you do not find your contribution in this issue you might have to wait a little longer! Thank you for your love, patience and support!
Do keep writing!
In case a student has lost/misplaced any item in school; s/he should check in the Lost and Found area and collect it within 2 weeks. After 2 weeks, all items will be donated.
In IB MYP, one of the key features is its emphasis on the interdisciplinary teaching and learning. This is the process by which students come to understand ways of knowing from two or more disciplines or subject group and integrate them to create new understanding.
In each year of the programme, MYP schools are responsible for engaging students in at least one collaboratively planned interdisciplinary unit that involves at least two subject groups. In Grade-10, students will appear for the onscreen examination of Interdisciplinary Unit which is an essential component and is marked externally.
To meet this requirement, Interdisciplinary unit study will be conducted in Grade 7, Grade 8 & Grade 9 during Term – 2 of this academic session from 26th November – 12th December 2018.
Kindly note that there will be a change in the regular time-table during this period of execution of the Interdisciplinary unit. Students will attend AS, PS, Arts, PHE, and Language Acquisition slots as per the timetable of a respective section. Besides this, Grade 9 students will also attend the Optional subject and Additional subject classes as per the timetable during this period. Rest of the slots on a given day will be dedicated to the teaching of the interdisciplinary unit.
Since it is a separate subject for which the students will be getting levels and a Grade that will be a part of their report in the final term, it is important that the students attend the school regularly during the aforementioned dates.
Please note that there was an error from our end in mentioning the timings for Onscreen Exam.
For handling technical errors we have kept upto 30 mins extra which was included in actual exam timings.

Grade 7 – Diwali Vacation Homework
Submission of homework to be done in the specific subject slot which will come after Diwali break.
Techradiance’19 in association with IIT, Bombay had conducted a workshop on Android Apps Development where students from Grades 7 to 12 had participated to learn the basic concepts of app development in our school on 29th and 30th September 2018. The session for students began with learning to install Android Studio and jdk on their respective laptops. They learnt to enable developer options on their Mobile phones and installing virtual devices as well to check the functionality of their apps on mobile devices.
After gaining some confidence, students developed their own app (sending SMS, calling contacts, playing audio and video, registration form etc.) and presented to the facilitators as a part of the competition. Students had come up with creative ideas of app making. Students found it very interesting and were actively involved in working with the Android Studio software. It was quite surprising and interesting to see students missing on their lunch to complete their tasks. Participants without much background knowledge of Java were able to make basic apps of good quality.
