Highlights:

Math summative assessment:- Students appeared for their fraction summative assessment which was in the form 6 workstations.

Homework:

Descriptive writing of about 200 words on the topic “Abducted”.

Note 1:-. A circular has been sent with the students today. Please refer the same as of what is to be           brought in the potluck party tomorrow. Also the date of submission of Diwali vacation HW has been mentioned. 

Note 2:- Students who are coming for nature camp are requested to bring the consent form acknowledged by their parents tomorrow without fail.

Language:-

  • Word of the week: Dependence

Introduction of letter “N” and “O” and its associations (Oar, Oatmeal,
Octopus, Office, Oil, Olive, One, Onion, Orange, Ostrich, Oval, Oven, Overalls, Owl, Ox)
(Nachos, Nail, Napkin, Neck, Necklace, Necktie, Needle, Nest, Net, Newspaper, Night, Nightdress, Nine, Noodles, Nose, Numbers, Nutcracker, Nuts, Nib, Nurse, noon)

  • High frequency words: – Introduction of “as” ,“at”, “am” and revision of other words done till date( I, he, she, me, we, do, go, to, no, by, my, so, up, in, us, on, or )

Math:

  • Introduction of number “14 and 15” by using vocabulary ten and four fourteen and ten and five fifteen.   
  • Revision of Terms: long-short, wide-narrow, small-big, up-down, far- near, left-right, inside-outside and Fat-thin etc was been practiced.
  • Revision of mathematical operation- counting, association, after, before, middle, between, forward, backward, more and less, greater than and less than from number 0-15.
  • Revision of sorting objects according to shape, size and colors was done.

Free Play:

  • Construction Blocks
  • Puzzles
  • Sensory foot path blocks.

Important Note:-

  • Diwali Home work will be send by Tuesday 6 November, 2012. 
  • Dear parent, during Diwali vacation kindly practice math operation (counting, association, after-before numbers, middle-between numbers and backward-forward counting) with your child. And in language identification of letters (capital and small letters) and its associations (‘A’ for apple, almond, ambulance, apron, anchor, astronaut, etc.).
  •  Please keep a track on your child’s progress/learning.
  • Please write your child’s reflection in diary regularly.
  • If you are facing any problem regarding academics, then please do inform me through the communication diary.

Grade 6, Homework for 6th November, 2012

Dear All,

  1. Diwali Homework has been distributed in the class. Submission date: 27th November, 2012
  2. Interhouse Elocution Competition will be held tomorrow. Students representing their house for the same need to come prepared for any one of the following topics:
  • If I had the super powers for a day
  • If I could speak to the animals
  • If I would to become the leader of the most powerful country in the world
Note : Tomorrow, being the last day of school, before the Diwali vacations students are allowed to celebrate in class. The following  points need to be noted for the same:
 1.The Friday food list has to referred and students can bring the food allowed on Friday. Kindly adhere to the food policy.
2. After the assembly,  Students have to be dressed in uniform only.
3. This celebration is for the 1st meal break only. So please ensure that students bring reasonable quantity of food that finishes in 1st meal break.

Learners appeared for revision test yesterday which included Math, Language, general knowledge and science.

Math- Summative Assessment of Fractions was taken.

Hindi Highlights of October – 7 November

We took 4 classes and class  time was divided in different activities.

We have completed two stories from Reader  -Tata ko phir kaise sunaiye diya, Kalakar . We did reading , word meaning and writing of answers in note book . Chits of question was given to them.  Two comprehension sheets also covered to enhance their reading- understanding -writing skills.

Please do lot of practices in vacation because assessment will be in December . Reading should be emphasized on daily basis and writing of reflection. Reading can be from reader Panch jassos    Get it checked by someone so that mistakes can be improved . Do Diwali Homework (chits  given in class ) sincerely because it will help you a lot. Enjoy Diwali…

We took 4 classes and class  time was divided in different activities.

We have completed two stories from Chandamama – Anant ka ghamand , Swarg or Narak. We did reading , word meaning and writing of answers in note book . Chits of question was given to them.  Two comprehension sheets also covered to enhance their reading- understanding -writing skills. W e asked them to read story Khana pakane wala pati also and questions will be given after Diwali in class.

Please do lot of practices in vacation because assessment will be in December . Reading should be emphasized on daily basis and writing of reflection. Get it checked by someone so that mistakes can be improved . Do Diwali Homework sincerely because it will help you a lot. Enjoy Diwali…

06/11/2012 Grade9 Diwali Vacation Language Assignment

Dear Students,

Happy Diwali in advance.

“With freedom comes responsibility” according to Eleanor Roosevelt. So, do have fun in your Diwali break but do not miss out on taking these assignments( in your language notebooks).

Task 1:

Write a photo story/make a short film of the places you visit during the vacation.

Task 2:

It is evident from your writing and discussions that you all savour reading…. Share what you have read in the vacations in the class after the vacation re-opens and write a summary and a blurb of at least one article/short story/novel that you find appealing.

Task 3:

It’s time to revise and improvise on some basic formats of writing like- Essay, short stories, letters. Please revise the formats from the website recommended by the Cambridge Board for Cambridge students. write one essay or article on the topic of your choice.
