U.O.I:

Learners moved one step ahead on understanding energy. A class discussion was done and learners were asked few questions. They reflected on their understanding about the term energy so far. Then they were introduced to states of energy i.e., potential energy and kinetic energy.

Maths:

Learners were introduced to finding the perimeter of irregular shapes and were given sums based on the same.

The learners appeared for the IMO.

UOI- To move ahead with the inquiry cycle of ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã‹Å“How the world works ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã‹Å“ unit introduction to States of Energy was done. A class discussions on ‘Potential Energy’ and ‘Kinetic Energy’ was taken and the learners were clear about these terms by showing objects like a rubber band, pendulum, toy car, clip , ball , cell, duster.Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â

Homework:-

Complete the poem book till pg 23. Read the poems and learn the poem you like. Revise Pg 2 -Central Idea, Lines of Inquiry, Skills, Attitudes, Attributes, Key Concepts of the Poetry Unit.

Highlights:-

UOI:- Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â Going ahead with the discussion of energy, students were introduced to the two states of energy i.e “Kinetic” and “Potential” by explaining throughÃƒâ€šÃ‚Â objects like rubber band, torch, battery, ball, hand-made pendulum etc . We led the discussion further as how potential energy gets converted into kinetic and vice versa. This was led through the conversion of deriving the definition of Potential (Potential energy is the stored energy) and Kinetic energy (Energy in motion). This helped them to conceptualize that all objects whether living or non-living possess energy either in the potential or the kinetic state.

Language:- Tuning in activity of “Matilda”/”George’s Marvelous medicine” was done by grouping students and giving each group a photo copy of the cover page of the reader. A certain set of questions were given which they had to individually answer by looking the cover page. Later they were asked to write down any 2 questions which they wanted to know aboutÃƒâ€šÃ‚Â “Matilda”/”George’s Marvelous medicine” as the reader.

Homework:-

1. Poem no 2 “Its finally Friday” – Read the poem and answer the questions. (Complete the incomplete work in the poem book.)

Note:- Students are requested to bring a scale as well as a dictionary everyday with them from tomorrowÃƒâ€šÃ‚Â onward.

Students were given introduction to States of Energy (Kinetic and Potential). Various examples were shared with them.

LANGUAGE:

Students did an activity named “Predicting the book cover”, in relation to their upcoming readers. They were asked various prompting questions.

IMO:

Few students appeared for IMO.

HOMEWORK:

Descriptive writing of about 200 words on the recent Nature Camp.

Learners went to the field trip to ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã…â€œTraffic ParkÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã‚Â. They enjoyed the field trip a lot. There they saw artificial models of bus stop,
petrol pump, traffic lights, flyover, bridge, traffic police man etc. They learnt that we are suppose to walk on the footpath and not on the road and also learnt about zebra crossing.

Dear Students,

At our school we are starting ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã‹Å“Eco ClubÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã‚Â¦

Luckily we have school which is located at very soothing and natural surroundings, which would provide best platform for ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã‹Å“Eco ClubÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢.

As this is the first ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã‹Å“ClubÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢ initiated in school, the members of this club would have great responsibilities to make it a huge success and set an example. [For now, we are introducing ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã‹Å“Eco ClubÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢ in Middle years (Grade 7, 8 and 9) only]

So, for a start we are going to have selection of ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã‹Å“MembersÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢ based on your creative activities and Ideas during ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã‹Å“Nature CampÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢.

Following are some sample activities you can undertake during Nature Camp…
