Circle Time:

  • Revision of all the rhymes done till date.

UOI 3: – Family and friends play a role in our lives.

  • Role play: – Students were given situations and they had to act accordingly.
  • Show and tell: – Students presented their helping family log in front of the whole class.

UOI 1:- Stories can engage the audience and communicate meaning.

Lines of Inquiry 2:- What stories can convey?

After the read aloud, the class discussion was held where the students were asked what was the story all about? What have you understood from the story? What was the message conveyed by the story? After an open discussion the students got the clear understanding that stories also convey some message.

 

Language:-

  • Word of the week: “Tolerance”

Introduction of letter “Qq” and “Rr ” and its associations (Quack`, Quail, Queen, Question-Mark, Quill, Quilt)( Rabbit, Raccoon, Radio, Rain, Rainbow, Rain Coat, Raisins, Rake, Raspberry, Rattle, Rectangle, Relish, Red, Reindeer, Rhinoceros, Ribbon, Rice, Ring, Robot, Rock, Rocket, Rolls, Roller skates,  Rolling Pin, Rooster, Rope, Rose, Rubber Boots, Rug, Ruler)

  • High frequency words: –Revision of the words –  I, he, she, me, we
  • Homework: – As given in the note book and worksheet. Please help your child write with proper directionality.

Math:

  • Introduction of number 18 by using vocabulary ten and eight- eighteen and 19 by using the same vocabulary ten and nine- nineteen.
  • Introduction of Patterns with two attributes.
  • Revision of Terms: long-short, wide-narrow, small-big, up-down, far- near, left-right, inside-outside and Fat-thin etc was been practiced.
  • Revision of mathematical operation- counting, association, after, before, middle, between, forward, backward, more and less, greater than and less than from number 0-19.
  • Revision of sorting objects according to shape, size and color was done.

Visual Arts:  Introduction of Primary colors (Red, Yellow and Blue)

Important Note:-

  • Please send one object related to primary colors and a picture that begins with letter “O” and “P” for Show and Tell activity by Tuesday.
  • Kindly revise all the below mentioned High frequency words with your child. We will be taking oral (reading test) from 10th December onwards.

  • We had sent you the helping family log sheet along with the Diwali homework; please send it back, as it is a part of UOI assessment.(if send then please ignore it.)
  • Kindly practice math operations ( sequencing of the numbers, association, after\before numbers, middle\between numbers and backward-forward counting, more or less, greater than and less than) with your child. And in language practice identification of letters (capital and small letters) and its associations (‘A’ for apple, almond, ambulance, apron, anchor, astronaut, etc.)
  • Please keep a track on your child’s progress/learning.
  • Please write the reflection of your child’s learning in communication diary.
  • Request you to send lunch box and lap size napkin in polythene/cloth bag. Though we have sent several reminders few parents are not sending the napkins.

Dear Parents,

Fountainhead School strongly believes that considerate and appropriate behavior is very essential for the success of a child and with the help of this they form relationships in and out of school, which help them to succeed in life.

Parents are the role models for their children.

We have faced few instances in our school wherein the parents have interacted very rudely with the School staff. Language: We did character descriptive writing on the characters of “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone”. The students have done a good job of using the new descriptive words in writing descriptive paragraph.

UOI: We had a discussion on our experience of the initiation activity of digging the pit. They could relate it to our next unit on civilization. Students came up with various aspects of importance of archeology and the archaeologists work. We had a discussion about what they already are aware about the civilizations and various terms like archaeology, ancient, Time lines, History, A.D., B.C and few civilizations they have heard or known about. Today we saw the movie “The Terracotta Soldiers” based on the chinese civilization.


Language: Complete the given worksheet on “Paraphrasing” and Redraft the descriptive paragraph based on the points discussed and feedback given in class.

Math: Complete the given worksheet.

UOI: Watch the video “Chinas Ghost Army: The Terracota Army” again, in order to clarify your misconceptions and doubts if any.

Important points

  • For the ongoing Unit of Inquiry on animals , kindly send two animal models (toy models) on Monday. Also label the model with a permanent marker, you can write roll number. The same will be returned at the end of this unit.
  • Those who have not sent the extra I.card, please send by Monday as from now on we will be issuing the library  books on the i-Cards only. The book will be issued on day 1 of every week and you have to return the book also back on Day 1 every week. If you send the next day the same book only will be re-issued.
  • Those who still have not send the 1st Term Reports folder back please send it by Monday.
  • If your child comes and asks you about any animal please provide him with the necessary information.  Answer their questions and also provoke them and tell them  to watch Animal planet then the normal cartoon channel.
  • Please make the children practise all the sight words and families done till now on regular basis as we will start our language assesments by mid December.
