HINDI HOMEWORK FOR GRADE 5 SYNERGY AND SYMBIOSIS

Dear students,

Grade 5 synergy given on date- Day 1- 15/12/12,

Grade 5 symbiosis given on date- Day 2- 17/12/12,

Hindi homework was given in their Hindi class and submission is on  Day 1 -21/12/12  for synergy and Day 2 -14/12/12  for symbiosis respectively.

Read a story “kisaan ki arji” from their reader “chandamama”  and write the answers of given questions in their Hindi notebook.

Important notice:

Dear Parents,

Following are the research steps that the learners will use to conduct research for their current UOI. The learners have been explained these steps in detail. We also have sent a hard copy for the same today.

Research steps-

1. Define your subject

  • Start the subject by asking yourself, what do you want to find out?
  • Brainstorming about the subject- Make a list of what you already know-
  • List down the keywords that you would use to undertake your research.

e.g. Form: Describe the recognizable features of Surat that can be observed, identified and described.

Causation: Why is Surat unique? What are the actions and events that have happened in the past that make Surat different from other cities.

  • Gather your tools- journal, scrap book, internet, reference books, magazines, newspaper articles…

2. Search your information- Use the resources you have gathered.

What if you can’t find anything- see the tricks- like 5 fingers- if you see a website, article or a book, where you can’t understand more than 5 words/sentences then that website, article or book is not relevant for you.

3. Make notes – You can include facts and photos. It is mandatory to include bibliography. Bibliography means a list of sources from where you have gathered your information.

4. Organise your information –

Arrange the information that you have gathered in a proper sequence in which you would like to present.

5. Conclusion:

Conclude your topic by writing down your learning from the research that you have done.

Sharing of your research findings using information collected so far in your scrap book.

Besides Google, you can also use these search engines for researching on the net.

[The students can use their scrap book for noting down the points during their research for their Summative Assessment, when given. The topic for the same will be given later as per the schedule.]

Today’s Recap:

UOI/ICT: The Central Idea, Key Concepts, TDT Skills and LOI of the current Unit was once again revised in the class. The learners also wrote the difference between Urban and Rural places in their UOI book. Steps for doing research work was explained and discussed in the class. Then the students did the research on Surat, following the steps as mentioned above.

Lang: Students solved 1 pg. in their Grammar workbook. They also solved a worksheet on tenses.

Math: learners also solved 2 word problems in the given worksheet. Sum 3 & 4 to be done as H.W.

H.W: MathSolve the word problem 3 & 4 in the given worksheet.

UOI – Complete the research work on Surat following the steps given and write atleast 10/12 sentences on it. Students can also do this research work on any other city of India, if they wish to.

Day 2

Highlights:-
UOI:- A discussion on the Saturday’s field trip was done wherein the working of how windmill works and its conversion and transformation (Kinetic energy into mechanical energy into electrical energy). Also the working of solar cooker and its conversion and transformation (Solar energy into heat energy)was discussed. Videos were shown for
the same.
Lang:- Read aloud of Ch1 of the reader followed by a worksheet on Ch 1
Math:- Perimeter of a triangle was introduced and the learners clarified their doubts related to worksheets done.

Homework:-
Math- A worksheet on Perimeter of triangle and word problems (1-5)
Lang- Complete the worksheet Ch1, Read the chapter again, find the new words and write its meanings in the Index Diary and make 5 sentences of the new words found in the practice note-book.

Note:- There will be regular school timings from tomorrow 7:30pm-2:00pm. After the sport day event regular classes will be conducted.

UOI:

  • Stop and think: SPEED. Identify connections (what you have learned and what you saw in the movie ), causations (reasons for the acceleration an deceleration of motion), form (Identify the forces in action)
  • Explore the inquiry questions for understanding behavior of magnets at home. Bring your findings tomorrow.

Math:

  • Complete the H.W given over the weekend.

Language:

  • Hope you are filling up your scrapbook with new and interesting poetries. Do send in your odes for the scrapbook by tomorrow.

Lang: Verb Tenses worksheet solved in class.

Math: 2 Mixed Operations word problems were solved in a worksheet (the other 2 sums of the same worksheet are been given as h.w)

UOI: The central idea and the key concepts of the current UOI were revised and the learners wrote the description of the concepts in their notebook.

ICT: The learners conducted a research on Kashmir on the basis of the research steps that taught to them. They wrote their research findings in the book.

NOTE: The notebook has been sent home so that you can review the research that the learners did. 

Read Aloud: Read aloud was done and the Learner Profile and Attitude were guessed by the learners.

H.W. 

Math:  Sum no. 3 and 4 of the same worksheet that was done in the class. 

Research Steps: Circular given.

Verb Tenses: A sheet has been given that includes all the rules that will help the learners to understand verb tenses in detail.

Grade 3 Math Learning Center from 10th to 15th Dec

Grade 3 Math Learning Center from 10th to 15th Dec

Students prepared lemonade using the standard units of measurement for capacity in the center. They were also given the task to prepare the same at home to serve their family members. This was evident from the procedure writing done by students in homework.

Students had done cut and paste activity of measurement in the class. The students were divided in groups and were given different measurement which they had to split into various ways and make it a challenging one. It was really an engaging activity.

Students were given detailed discussion of Solar cooker, Solar Panels and Wind Mills. Procedure writing for the same was also told.

MATH:

More sums on perimeter were done (finding the missing number).

LANG:

Introduction to procedure writing was done.

HOMEWORK:

Circle Time: Revision of the poem: “Butterfly”, “Ten Little Fluffy chicks””bounce the ball”

(The rhyme was read by the students from the board. This helped them in enhancing their reading and oral skill)

Read Aloud: My mother’s sari -Sandhya Rao Look the Moon-Sandhya Rao

Language: Revision of “ag” and “ake” “ack”word families.

Introduction of the “ale” word family.

Revision of sight words Other,more,before.
