Highlights of two days (17th and 18th Dec)

UOI: During our ICT slot, students through Google search engine found few sites and did research on Surat, They jot down the points which they found essential to be written about the Surat city. Checked what students had written about Surat in their reflection book and discussed it in the class. Gave the students, hand-outs about the research steps to be followed while doing research.

Language: Verb tenses w.s was done in the class, hand-outs were given related to verb tenses, where students can come to know the rules about present, past and future tense and they need to revise it, Comprehension was done in the class, Conducted a reading test for the students as a part of their assessment where they need to read a book and were judged according to their audibility, clarity, fluency, expression and understanding the read text.

Math: For mix word problems done two sums in the class and other two were given in the h.w and the next day discussed the other two sums that was given as h.w so that everyone gets clear with all the word problems.

Home work: w.s given related to verb tenses.

Note: Parents please help the students in their research about the places. They can take the help of internet, books, magazines, journals, newspapers, etc.

The highlights of this week are as follows:

Circle Time:

Revision of the poem: “Butterfly”, “Ten Little Fluffy chicks””bounce the ball”

(The students were asked to read the rhyme  from the board. This helped them in enhancing their reading and oral skill)

Read Aloud:

The very busy spider by Eric carle

Language:

Revision of “ag” and “ake” “ack”word families.

Introduction of the “ale” word family.

Writing of “ale” words: bale, male, sale, pale, tale, whale

Revision  of sight words: Other ,more, before.

UOI:

Introduction to the word “Adaptation”

Introduction to the “Snow habitat”

Students explored the components of the snow habitat i.e Food, water, shelter, air and space. They discussed about the animals that stay in this habitat.

 

Detailed discussion of the following animals was done along with their characteristics features that enable them to survive in their habitat.

  • Polar bear
  • Seal

Math:

 

  • Revision of half past clock.
  • Revision of number names: 18, 19, and 20.

UOI 4: Animals adapt to survive in their natural habitats.

After knowing about different types of natural habitats of animals, we moved on further to know about the physical features of particular animals that enable them to survive in their natural habitats.
We discussed about some of the Grassland/Jungle animals as:

  • Lion
  • Bear
  • Giraffe
  • Deer

 Math:

  • Revision of half past clock.
  • Revision  of number names: 18, 19, and 20.
  • Ascending & Descending Order
  • Introduction of the names of the days of the week: Tuesday & Wednesday.

Event of this month: Sports Day on 17th Dec.
