As you all are aware that we would be having a Poetry recitation at the end of the unit on Poetry i.e by 2nd week of January. You need to make a note of the following for the same:
- The poem should be original i.e written by you.
- You need to get it checked by your respective language teacher and it should be included in your scrap book.
- You should be able to recite the poem without referring to any paper or your scrap book, so you should know your poem well.
- Poetry is more about expression, so you can dress up as the character in your poem or use props /charts/background with your poem written on it, to make your poem more appealing to the audience.
We will be having a Math quiz on 26th December. The following topics need to revised for the quiz:
- Numbers (BODMAS, Rounding, Prime nos, fractions, decimals, percentage)
- Word problems
- Polygons and its properties
- Point, line and planes
- Coordinate geometry
- Data handling and graphs
Grade 3 students are going to one-day field trip on December 21,Friday.Kindly ensure students are provided with two lunch box one Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â snacks meal and other dry heavy meal.
Dictation: Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â Months of the year.
Writing a small paragraph on the topic -“My favorite sport” or ” How I enjoyed the sports day” .
The learners could put their thoughts on the paper withpout help . They needed support to organise their thoughts, for which we revisited the criteria to write the paragraph i,e,Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â beginning (interesting lines), middle (detail) and the conclusion or the end.
Some questions prompts like ” Why did you chose that particular sport?” “What is so interesting about the sport”? “What do you get to learn from your favorite sport?” Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â Worked Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â as a guide them to write something interesting.
Learners solved two word problems with mixed operation, in the class, in the Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â stipulated Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â time of 30 minutes.The problems were solved in two parts and the Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â students checked the answer when the Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â teacher solved it on the Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â white board.
Learners conducted research on the “form” questions in the ICT lab.
The Students were also made to simultaneously Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â quote the website on the bibliography page. note. Parents are requested to encourage the same practice at home.

Learners brainstormed about the reason of doing the grid activity for area and later through discussion they were introduced to the formula for finding the area of square and rectangle.
Learners did an activity on figures of speech wherein their prior knowledge about the same was checked and later they were introduced to figures of speech.
UOI- . The learners wrote the Procedure writing through a graphic organizer after watching the Video on How Solar Panel works. The Renewable and Non-renewable sources of energy (DefinitionsÃƒâ€šÃ‚Â & examples) were discussed. They watched ppts and videos on variousÃƒâ€šÃ‚Â Renewable and Non-renewable sources of energy,through discussion they were introduced to biomass.
Math- Learners brainstormed about the reason of doing the grid activity for area and later through discussion they were introduced to the formula for finding the area of square and rectangle. The learners solved sums on Area of rectangle and square.

UOI- Learners have started working on their Summative Assessment. They have decided on which place to research on, from the given list of different places by teacher. Learners went to ICT class for finding information of those places.
*Parents can only help them in taking out the print out of pictures the child asks regarding that place he/she is researching on.

Videos related to renewable and non-renewable energy sources, kinds of energy, how electricity is generated from wind and sun were shown. Later on, they classified renewable and non-renewable sources of energy on a piece of paper.
More sums related to area and perimeter were done.
StudentsÃƒâ€šÃ‚Â who are reading ‘Matilda’ reader answered questions related to chapter 1. Same thing was done with the students reading ‘George’s Marvelous Medicine’.

UOI– Students watched a ppt and understood the concept of how the solar panel works. They came up with the advantages and disadvantages of the uses of solar panel. Going further, we introduced the Renewable and Non-renewable sources of energy (DefinitionsÃƒâ€šÃ‚Â & examples). They watched ppts on variousÃƒâ€šÃ‚Â Renewable and Non-renewable sources of energy as how they are created and depleted (Non-renewable sources of energy).
Math– Tuning in activity of area where students were given the graph paper cut outs of 1 cm each and were asked to make a perimeter of the given length & breath. Then they were asked to fill in the inside part of the perimeter usingÃƒâ€šÃ‚Â the graph paper cut outs of 1 cm. They calculated all the squares and hence derived the formula of Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â “AREA”.
Language-Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â PracticedÃƒâ€šÃ‚Â Procedural writing where students were given the Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â graphicÃƒâ€šÃ‚Â organizerÃƒâ€šÃ‚Â of procedural writing and they had to write it in detail mentioning Title, Goal, Materials used, Method and Conclusions. Students made Acrostic Poem on “CARING”.
