Day 1,2

UOI- Videos on renewable and non-renewable sources of energy was shown and the learners wrote the difference between the same in the graphic organizer of their choice. Further, they made the flowchart on what they had learnt in the unit so far.
Math- Conversion from meter to centimeter and kilometer to meter was done.
Lang- A worksheet on Prepositions. Chapter 3 of George Marvelous Medicine/ Matilda was read and explained.

Complete the Preposition worksheet .
Read Ch 3, write the meanings of the new words in the index diary, Make 10 sentences and Illustrate
Sums on Conversion

Today,3 jan, is John Ronald Reuel Tolkien’s birthday. The author best known for The Hobbit and its sequel The Lord of the Rings. You can celebrate his birthday by beginning to read and enjoy “The Hobbit”. 

The Hobbit, or There and Back Again, better known by its abbreviated title The Hobbit, is a fantasy novel and children’s book. It was published on 21 September 1937 to wide critical acclaim, being nominated for the Carnegie Medal and awarded a prize from the New York Herald Tribune for best juvenile fiction. The book remains popular and is recognized as a classic in children’s literature.

Grade 5 -: Reciprocity Highlights and Homework, 03/01/13

UOI -: We did the revision of Indus Valley and Mesopotamia Civilization. Student were grouped into two groups. They have to write similarities/differences amongst these civilization. Moving further along with this unit, grade 5 section will do research work on either Rome, Egypt or Greek civilization. Our section has got the topic Greek Civilization for research. Students have been grouped according to the topic of research -: 1. Town Planning, 2. Art and Architecture 3. Society 4. Technology and Inventions.

HW -: Do the research work on the topic assigned to your group.

Math -: We had the revision test today of all the concepts learnt till now.

Language -: We continued with the descriptive writing process. We discussed on how to describe negative traits of any character. Students wrote a short description on Captain Russell from the movie Lagaan. Today we learnt some new words to describe the characters.

HW -: Learn the spelling of the new words learnt today for describing negative traits.

Grade 2 X – Box Performance

Grade 2 X – Box Performance

Dear Parents,

As most of you are already aware, we have replaced the Annual Day with an individual performance for each grade in the X-Box.

Following is the schedule of the performances of the Grade 2 students.

8th Jan – Grade 2 Dream

9th Jan – Grade 2 Invent and Create

10th Jan – Grade 2 Explore and Wonder

11th Jan – Grade 2 Think and Imagine

The timings for the performances are from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, venue is X-Box at Fountainhead School, Kunkni.

All the parents are invited  to come and applaud the Grade 2 Learners, for their performance, which is a  celebration of their  learning.

We also request all the parents to send the students to school regularly, as the practice sessions are going on.

The details regarding the dress-code for the students for their performances will be sent through the communication diary.

The students will have regular classes, after their performance is over. They will not be allowed to go home with their parents.


Grade 2 Teachers.



Language: Complete writing the 2nd draft for “Mr.Russell”, describing the physical features and negative character traits.

Math: Solve 5 sums independently for the below mentioned topics discussed till now:-

  • Writing decimals in expanded form
  • State the value of 8
  • Write each number as decimal
  • Express decimal as a fraction in its simplest form
  • Express decimal as a mixed number in its simplest form

UOI: Research on “Rome” civilization and record the information in your UOI Book.
