G7 – Science Homework… Adaptation… [No. 2]

Dear Students,

This homework/assignment will be fun for you, as it will give you an opportunity to have a closer look at your favourite animal/plant.

You have present Adaptation related details of your animal…

Consider following points:

  • Adaptations are physical and behavioral
  • ‘Question’ every physical and behavioral characteristics of ‘your’ animal/plant – And search for ‘Why is it like that?’ [In another words: For every physical and behavioural characteristics of your chosen animal/plant – Search/Inquire the reasons for those characteristics… For example: Why Grass hopper is green? Why Giraffe has long neck? Why frog has webbed fit? Why Lions hunt in Night?]
  • You can also search and mention similar species and compare – to get better idea and explanation
  • Your presentation could be though any way – PPT, Prezi, Chart, etc…
  • Your presentation need to be of your own writing [No copy paste]
  • Your presentation have to be precise [Number of adaptations should be as much as possible – But no need to explain too much on each adaptation]

We have shared with you pictures of ‘Creative Mela’ which was held on 2nd Oct., 2012. This is an annual event and we thank you all for your immense support and overwhelming participation.

Math: Introduced 2- digit borrowing sums (subtraction)

Make them practice in H.W. today on any paper and send it tomorrow.

For X-box performance practice we have given them scripts (those who are anchoring), lyrics of wiggles. (According to the child’s participation)

BAL MELA - Celebrating Childhood

Hosted by Fountainhead School

Children need to be SEEN | HEARD | TALKED ABOUT

Fountainhead School is proud to present ‘BAL MELA’A wonderful initiative where a main stream school of the city reaches out to welcome children from all walks of life and community to feel free and safe – free to set up games, activities, stalls etc. and safe for them to have childhood experiences where the message is ‘it is your day for celebrating childhood and your right to a better future’…

The main purpose of this event is to give those children, who do not have the privilege of space and resource, a chance to enjoy the joys of childhood.

  • Date: 26th January, 2013.
  • Venue: Fountainhead School, Kunkni.
  • Time: 8:30 am to 11:30 am.
  • Age Group: 6-12 yrs.

Tentative Activities: Running stage, Face Painting & Tattooing, Hair Makeover, Street Games – Hop Scotch / Mazes / Swings,Magic Show, Snake Show, Dog Show, Sailing bamboo, Trampolines, Rock Climbing, 100 mts. Race, Hurdle Race, Adventure Sports etc.

We would like to invite parents from the Fountainhead community to participate and be involved in this initiative by taking charge of various activities to be conducted during this event.

We would also like parents to provide us with names of NGO’s / Aanganwadi’s (that you may be aware of) from where we can invite children for the event.

Transportation will be provided only for other (underprivileged) children. Fountainhead Students who wish to attend this celebration should be accompanied by parents (own transport).

Please fill the form sent to you along with the circular today and submit it through your child’s communication diary before 15 Jan.
