## Comprehending bit by bit 6/2/2013

Recap:-

Language:- Checking H/W Page no 9 and 21.

Writing hints to identify and add “articles” – a, an, the in the language note book.

P.E:- Integration with UOI . The P.E coach came in the home room and took the reflection of the understanding of the games they played during the P.E classes. The students could easily connect with tthe central ide of the current unit,” Games can enhance understanding about us”.

Math:- ” Ice stray” activity to introduce the concept of multiplication. The students were asked to bring ice tray  from home . All the students were given chole beans. They were asked to place 1 chole bean in one box/ cell of the tray. Then 1 chole each in 2 cell of ice tray.

” 1 chole in 1 cell =1

1 chole in 2 cell = 2″

Similarly for 10 cells.

Again they were asked to place 2 chole in one cell .

They were asked to write 2 chole in 1 cells =2.

Similarly foe 10 cells.

They were smart and could guess that this concept of tray was taken up to teach them multiplication. The students were asked to write the table of 1 and 2.

H/W

Lang:- Write one short, original, story. Your own creativity and in  your own words. You could use character as your imagination permits. A color page is provided from the school.

Complete the correction in your notebook.

Math:- Write table of 1 and 2 in your note.

SHARING OUR PLANET…

## SHARING OUR PLANET…

Through four Exploration tables, learners understood what are the natural resources available to us and why some of the resources are limited and how do we harm our environment. Whole class was divided in four groups through different grouping strategies.
Exploration table 1: On first table doll was kept with the question paper “What are the things needed for a baby to survive?” The learners discussed about it in a group and wrote down their answers on the given question paper. Highlights of the day-6th Feb’13

## Highlights of the day-6th Feb’13

Math- Learners were introduced to multiplication through ice tray and beans. They were divided in groups. Each child was asked to keep 2 beans in 5 boxes and count and likewise, they were told to keep 5 beans in 7 boxes and count. They were counting through repeated addition like- 5+5+5+5+5+5+5=30. Thus, 7 times 5 is equal to 30. Some of them did by skip counting-5,10,15, 20,25,30. The answer is 30. And some also counted these beans on fingers.

Hence they did this exercise many times with different numbers and felt its a tedious job to count so many beans. Hence through this they understood that multiplication makes counting fast and easy.

Language- We checked the grammar book pages and revised the pronouns-this, these, that, those and verbs like-had,has, do,does, have etc.

H.W- They have to finish their incomplete h.w given till now in Grammar w.b and Comprehension w.b
