Lang:

(1) Cross checking of the worksheet that was sent yesterday and day before yesterday.

(2) Rapid Fire round of prepositions with the students wherein they were given a two minutes time to think on a number of prepositions and they had to say a preposition as their name was called out. This rapid fire round helped the students to become familiar with those list of prepositions which are not used in their daily speech. The students came up with these prepositions with the help of a common list of prepositions that is displayed in the class.

Math:

Students wrote the table of 2 and 3 in their book by themselves.

Highlights of this week are as follows:

Circle Time:

Music and Movement activity: The morning Strut song from “Music by Mar”

Language :

  • Introduction of word family “ing” following the process mentioned:
  1. Derivation of the “ing” words: The learners undergo the process of making “ing” words using all the alphabets.
  2. They bifurcate the words between real & unreal words.
  3. Then they connect the real words with the pictures & make contextual sentences.
  4. Oral drilling of’ ing’ words using initial sounds of all letters (.Ex- bing, ding, king, ring, sting, zing.)
  5. Writing 3 times in the note book.
  • Introduction of High Frequency words (Father, Mother, Brother & Sister)
  1. Oral framing of Sentences using these words.
  2. Also writing them in the notebook.

Unit of Inquiry: TDT- HOW WE EXPRESS OURSELVES

Popsicle stick Activity: Different emotions are displayed in the class. Every morning children express their emotions like Happy, Sad, Excited and Angry by placing their individual Popsicle stick in respective glass of the emotion. They also orally speak out the reason as to why are they feeling so.

Read aloud:

  • Where’s the baby gone
  • Market to Market

After the Read Aloud detailed discussion was done on:

  • Difference between Emotion and Expression
  • Verbal and Nonverbal forms of expression

We celebrated the Art Week wherein expert teachers from different forms of art came and performed. Learners were given exposure about different art forms.

Day 2 Dance Form Different videos of different dance forms  expressing different ideas & emotions were shown to learners and followed by  detailed discussion.
Day 3 Drama Form Our drama teacher has presented few forms of drama like dialogue, reader’s thaeatre etc which was followed by detailed discussion.
Day 4 VA form Different posters, advertisement,hand paintings & street paintings were shown to learners which also leads to detail discussion.
Day 5 Language We read few poems in front of learners with different ideas and feelings.
Day 1 Music Different types of music and musical instruments has been played in front of learners and followed by detail discussion.

Through these activities in “Art week”, learners got an exposure of different art forms and they learnt that we can express our thoughts, ideas and emotions through all these different forms of art.

Homework :

Math: Writing of number names 71- 90.

Language: Writing of ‘ing’ word family  and High Frequency words (mother, father, brother & sister) 3 times in note book.

Grade 3 Infuse Highlights of the week 4th Feb to 8th Feb

The students shared their learning with the parent by performing in the X BOX. They had done a fantastic job by acting, singing or dancing showcasing their learning. Good Job done by them.

Math: Students did different worksheets of division. They also learned verification of the sums using the formula. They were able to find out the dividend using the same formula.

Lang: Students learned adverbs by playing a game “Walk The Walk Charades”. Students were divided into groups and were given chits of a word which contained an adverb and few other words having similar meaning. They had to show the word by walking in that style, and the other group had to identify the adverb seeing the style of walking. It  was a great fun playing the game and learning adverbs.

UOI: Students saw video of water pollution and go green. They reflected after seeing the videos and also talked about their models prepared. Students did the problem solving using the 6 Thinking Hats. Also they shared about the questionnaire that they prepared for the interview.

Circle Time- Meditation.

Tables chanting.

Math- Students solved mixed word problems worksheet which helped them to apply multiplication and division skills in real life situations.

Language- Adverb- Walk the walk charades game- Students played in teams to draw up a card of adverb from a bag full of adverbs and act it out by adding an verb to it. For eg- Walk- Walk quickly. The learning intention behind this game was to enhance their grammar skills.

UOI- Students solved the given problems (bribe and bullying) using the six thinking hats. The learning intention was to help students to resolve conflicts using dialectical thought.

Home work-

UOI- Take actions and collect evidences.

Math- Division cut and paste worksheet.

Language- Adverb worksheet.
