Dear students,

As a part of Unit 4, we have delved into “how not to write a poetry” studying an example from Poetic Gems produced by William Topaz McGonagall.

Task: Your task is to compare “The Tay Bridge Disaster” with the other poems that you have studied/read by renowned poets and analyse the structure, patterns and composition of both the poems.

Also, on the basis of your comparative inferences, figure out what amends can you make in the poem “The Tay Bridge Disaster” to shift it from the category of “How not to write poems” to a more elegant one.
