Circle Time:

Revision of letter: “Ii to Oo”

Morning Message: (Drilling)

  • Where do you live?

Habit:  7- Sharpen the saw

Books:  Goodnight moon and Brown bear

UOI (Year long) :

  • Students made a story using flashcards.
  • Students chose their favorite character and drew stories of the beginning, middle and ending part on the laminated cards.
  •  While students were making the story, they were guided and reminded to make a story which has a message.
  • Introduction: Mask
  • Revision of stick puppets.

 

UOI 3: – Plants:

  1. Discussion was done about how to plant the seed keeping in mind the space provided.
  2. Making of name tags for each plant was done.
  3. Discussion was done about how best to take care for the plant that would grow from the seed.
  4. Discussion on each part of a plant and its function and uses was done as per the inquiry raised during class.

  • Word of the week: “Connection”: Meaning: The act or state of connecting; union or something that connects, joins, or relates; link or bond.

High frequency words: they, said, were

  • Revision of words (I, she, he, me, we, go, no, so, to, do, up, my, as, at, or, us, by, am, in, you, saw, the, one, two, why, who, and, all, her, his, has, had, boy, for, out, did, see, him, our, day, can and some.)
  • Homework: – As given in the note book. Please help your child write with proper directionality.

Math:

  • Introduction of numbers from 36 to 40 orally, using abacus.
  • Revision of concept ascending through numbers.
  • Revision of 3D shape -“Cube” and “Cuboid” through Venn-diagram
  • Revision of pattern with manipulative (2 attributes) with all the rules
  • Introduction of pairing with pictures and objects.

 

 

Free Play:

  • ·        Wooden blocks
  • ·        Puppet theatre (Utensils and doctor set)
  • ·        Straw
  • ·        Lacing
  • ·        Life Education:
  • ·        Naming of body parts.
  • Making flower with colorful clay.
  • ·         Painting of flower and tree.

 

 

 

Important Note:-

  • Kindly practice math operations (counting, association, after\before numbers, middle\between numbers and backward-forward counting, more or less, greater than and less than) with your child. And in language, practice identification of letters (capital and small letters) and its associations (‘A’ for apple, almond, ambulance, apron, anchor, astronaut, etc.)
  • Please keep a track on your child’s progress/learning.
  • Kindly send writing ring as mentioned on the blog, earlier.
  • Please send the reader ‘Brown Bear’ every Monday and it will be returned on every Friday, so that you can help your child read it.
  • Kindly revise the music rhymes with students, which have been already posted on blog.
  • Kindly send different seeds of vegetable and fruit.
  •  Kindly send sphere shaped objects by Monday.
  • Character dress up day will be held on Wednesday 27th February, so please dress your child as a story character. They will be required to narrate the story which relates to their character.

Dear Parent,

Highlights of the week are as follows:-

 

Circle Time

 

  • Music and Movement activity: Blending song
  • Primary Colours song From Music by Mar.
  • Read Aloud :- ‘ Hansel and Gretel ‘

 

Language

 

  • Introduction of word family “in” following the process mentioned:
  1. Derivation of the “in” words: The learners undergo the process of making “in” words using all the alphabets.
  2. They classify the words between real & unreal words.
  3. Then they connect the real words with the pictures & make contextual sentences.
  4. Oral drilling of ‘ in’ words using initial sounds of all letters (.Ex- bin, tin, pin, chin, skin, thin, win)
  5. Writing 3 times in the note book and framing sentences with the same.
  • Revision  of( father, brother, sister ,could, should, would)
  • Dictation of “ight, ip ,ing, ill, it and sight words”

 

Math

 

  • Revision of O’clock ,Half past, quarter past and quarter to through Literacy centres & worksheets.
  • Revision of number  names 1 to 100
  • Addition of one digit numbers by keeping the greater number in mind and smaller on fingers and count.
  • Revision of Addition through workbook pg. 95 and 96.

TDT- HOW WE EXPRESS OURSELVES:

Central Idea- We can express ourselves in different ways.

Read Aloud: Swimmy

(Caters to Learner propfile “Thinker”)

Learners expressed the story of Swimmy through different forms of expressions in the following centres

Centre 1: Visual Art
Learner used the Visual art material like painting colours, crayons, charts and expressed the story through visual art

Centre 2: Drama \ Puppets
Learners performed drama using different props like puppets, head gears etc

Centre 3: Mime

Learners enacted the story through a mime drama.

Centre 4: Music / dance.

Learners used different musical instruments and expressed the story in a rhythmic way.
