The test will have multiple choice questions as well as questions that require a detailed explanation.

For the past 4 years, we have been celebrating Creative Mela on 2nd Oct. This year however due to operational reasons, we are not celebrating the event on this day. We have shifted it to Nov 23, Saturday. We hope to see your full participation & contribution then.

Language

The learners revised all the grammar concepts taught so far.

Math

The learners learnt vocabulary related to money / currency and practiced Addition word problems related to that. They also practiced problems with some manipulation in language. They were introduced with the new 3D shapes: Triangular based pyramid, Square based pyramid and Triangular prism. Learners drew these shapes in the notebook and wrote its vertices, edges, faces and curved surfaces. They were also explained the difference between a Pyramid and a Prism.

[Circle Time]Aural/ Oral activity: Learners played “Fire Squad” game where they made connections with the given words.

Example- Teacher gave the word “Sun” to the learners. One of the learners said a connecting word i.e. “light” then the other learner said “heat” and this went on. This activity was done orally to enhance their vocabulary.

Homework

Math:- Do one addition word problem related to money. Lang:- Write any 2 sentences using Common noun & Proper noun, adjective, contraction, articles, gender and all the punctuation marks (. / , / ? / ! ) in the notebook.

Note:- We will follow Day 2 time- table on Monday (30/9/2013).

Language: We understood how to argue in a civilized manner. Later on the students learnt the structure for conducting debate. It was an engaging session.

Math: We learnt how by manipulating scales, statistics and representation people may dupe us into believing incorrect information.

Homework:

Language: Research and prepare for the following topic for debate to be conducted next week- “Ethics can be compromised to earn profit”. 

You need to take notes and record important arguments in your language NB.

FOR the topic (i.e. those who would speak in the favor of profit against ethics): Saksham, Anoushka, Dhruv, Aarohi, Madhav, Aryan, Ayush, Raghav, Vishva and Nena.

AGAINST the topic (i.e. those who would speak for importance of ethics over profit): Other 10 students.

Math: Complete the given WS for the topic Misleading Graphs.

Interhouse Folkdance Competition – 21st Sep,2013

The Inter House Folk Dance Competition for Grades 5 and 6 was held on 21st September 2013 and for Grades 7, 8, 9 and 10 was held on 4th October 2013.  All the participants put in a lot of effort. They showcased various folk dances from different places. Participants of creative dance duet performed dances on a variety of different dance forms using creative and innovative concepts.

All students thoroughly enjoyed the event and cheered the participants.
