[Unit Of Inquiry]

The learners discussed all the three states of matter on the basis of the rope activity which they have done yesterday. The learners wrote definitions of matter, properties, solid, liquid and gas in the notebook.

Language

Read page number- 5 to 10 “Come back Amelia Bedelia” book by Peggy Parish with the learners.

Enduring Understanding- Learners enhanced their reading skills.

Math

The learners practiced all the 3D shapes done so far. They have listed edges, vertices, faces and curved surfaces of all the shapes on paper.

Homework

Class library books sent along with the graphic organizer. They have to write elements of story using graphic organizer.

U.O.I:

A discussion on beliefs was done with learners after doing an activity – Take a stand with them wherein they had to choose their most important belief and then discuss the same with the class, also stating the reason for the same.

Maths:

Learners practiced word problems on patterns and functions.

Homework

Create 5 word problems of patterns and functions, solve them by making input – output box. Write the statements in proper format.

Highlights

Math : Students practised a lot of sums for the concept of Pattern and function by input output equations and word problems of pattern. Earlier worksheets “Create a chart” and “What’s rule” were also practised in class for concept clarity.

Homework:

Make 5 word problems based on pattern and function on your own and solve the same in your Math N.Bk. the way we are doing in class. Write the complete statements and mention the pattern rule and also write the ans. statement.

Note:

As business fair is organized in school kindly take care that your child does not get more amount than Rs. 150/-

Circle time-My news

Language: Learning center: Students completed the learning center activities today.

1) Reading: Students selected a book of their choice, read it and wrote the answers in their notebooks. They connected their story with the key concepts and wrote it in the graphic organizer.

 2) Writing: Students selected a topic, some verbs and some adjectives of their choice and wrote a paragraph in their notebooks.
3) Listening: Students heard the story through the listening station device and responded using the key concepts.
4) Vocabulary: Students matched the meanings to their words.
5) Dictionary: Students used their human body dictionary and arranged the words in alphabetical order in their notebooks.

Learning outcome- To enhance their oral, aural, reading and writing skills.

Maths:

Two worksheets were given to learners to practice sums on patterns and functions. They also created and solved word problems on their own, related to patterns and functions.

Homework:

Solve the following problems in your Maths notebook:

1. If there are 6 balls in first bag, 11 balls in second, and 26 balls in the fifth bag, how many balls will be there in the ninth bag? Identify and mention the pattern rule as well.

2. If there are 4 shirts on first rack of the closet, 6 shirts on the second and 20 shirts on the ninth rack, find the number of shirts on the racks from third to eighth.

3. In a game box there are red and green balls in a particular fashion. Number of red balls in first packet is 8 and number of green balls is 5 times more than red balls and this follows the same pattern for each packet. Number of red balls in second packet is 9, third packet is 10 and fourth packet is 11. Find the number of green balls for each of these packets.

4. If the number of blue towels in a closet is 3 times more than the number of brown towels and numbers of brown towels is 5 on the first rack then form a table stating the number of blue towels on each rack if there are 5 racks and the number of brown towels increases by one for each shelf.

  1. What is the name of the librarian?

  1. Find a chapter book with an author whose last name begins with “R”.  Write the title of the book and the author’s name.

  1.  Name a type of book located in the ‘Reference’ section of the children’s area.  What kind of information can you find in it?

  1. Find and read a small reader book from the young fiction section. Who is the author of the book. Write the summary of the book in your own words?

  1. Find the word that starts with ‘f’ from the dictionary; which means delicate.

They had found out the answers to those questions within the surroundings of the library.
