English Homework

English Homework

We have learnt to analyse characters in King Lear keeping the several themes in mind. Please use the organizer and the guiding questions to answer any one of the following questions:

 1. Examine the specific ways that Edmund contributes to his fall.

2. A tragic hero evokes pity, since his misfortune is greater than he deserves, and he also creates fear, since any individual can meet such tragedy. To what extent does Lear fit the definition of a tragic hero?

3. Discuss Edgar’s movement toward greater knowledge of himself and his world.

Highlights of 14/10/13 and 15/10/13

Highlights of 14/10/13 and 15/10/13

[Unit Of Inquiry]Interaction with waterThe learners did a hands on activity where in each one of them interacted the different types of materials (solid and liquid) one by one with water. Through this activity, they identified the attributes of these materials as, whether it is ‘soluble / insoluble’ and ‘miscible / immiscible’ by stirring them in water. The learners understood that ‘sugar’ being solid, when interacted with water, it gets dissolved in it and hence it is called as ‘soluble’ whereas ‘lemonade/milk’ being liquid, when interacted with water, it gets dissolved in it and hence it is called as ‘miscible’. They also learnt that some materials ‘float’ whereas some ‘sink’ by doing the similar activity with different types of solid objects and water. As a part of language integration, read aloud of ‘Why does it Float?’ was also done to understand the concept of ‘sink’ and ‘float’.

Enduring understanding:- The ‘Interaction with water- activity’ helped them to know the different properties and reaction of the different materials with water. They learnt the meaning and definition of ‘soluble’, ‘insoluble’, ‘miscible’ and ‘immiscible’.

Homework

UOI – (1) Solve the worksheet given after experimenting (testing) the objects whichever are possible. (2)Cut & paste activity: Classify the materials into solid, liquid and gas. Do this activity on the given chart paper.

Regards.
