Learners saw videos on opposites and practised the same by writing many examples on the paper. They alsoÃƒâ€šÃ‚Â did pages- 5,6 and 9 in ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã…â€œCome back Amelia BedeliaÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã‚Â workbook where they did tasks like- make sentences, unscramble the words, homophones and common nouns and proper nouns.

“See you later, alligator” by Normam Charles.

Math

Learners did mixed bag worksheet in which they solved multiple choice questions where the concepts of math done till now were revised. Clay activity was done where I made different shapes like circle, square, triangle and rectangle using clay and made lines of symmetry using tootpick. I also wrote alphabets and made line of symmetry on them. Through this they Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â revised the concept- “Symmetry” which was done in grade 1.

Find out different kinds of sentences from the given class library book.

Note:-Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â Learners needs to bring 100 rupees tomorrow for the business fair organised by Grade- 5 and 6.

Enduring understanding- Learners were clear with the concept of opposites and also came up with the word “Antonyms”.Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â

They also completed pages- 5, 6 and 9 of “Come back Amelia Bedelia” workbook.

Dictation was taken in the form of sentences where I dictated the sentences using the new words and learners had to write the same on their own.

Enduring understanding- Learners learnt the usage of words that they learn every week.

Chapter 17 ‘Splendid description’was taken up in class where the learners came to know about describing places. From figures of speech, ‘Simile’ was catered with the same chapter, wherein students got a clear understanding about the concept of comparision between two dissimilar things or persons by using the words ‘like’ or ‘as’ for comparing.

Fractions PPT was shown to build upon their prior knowledge about the concept.

Learners did a prediction worksheet on sink or float. (eg. Keys – will sink or float in dropped in water).

Discussed the soluble – insoluble worksheet.

Did an oobleck activity. Cornstarch was mixed with water and through this learners came to know the characteristics of oobleck, that the grains of starch cannot dissolve, they spread out in water. Semi-solid state of matter was introduced through this activity. They wrote the definition and the example for the same in their U.O.I book.

Enduring understanding – Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â some objects share the properties of both, solid and liquid.

Language:

Did few pages from “Come back Amelia Bedelia” workbook. It contained – make sentences, unscrambles words, homophones and common – proper nouns.
