UOI Activity:Show and Tell

UOI Activity:Show and Tell

The students were asked to bring  pictures related to any  place  they had visited recently or any event organized in their family. The students were enthusiastic while  showing and sharing the pictures with their peers. During the activity, the students were asked different questions like whether the event was planned or not, who had planned for the event, whether the event was well organized or not, was there something that their parents had missed out?

This activity helped them enhance their ‘communication skills’and understand the importance of planning and organizing involved in each event.IMG_4045[1] IMG_4140[1] IMG_4141[1] IMG_4144[1] IMG_3916[1] IMG_3918[1] IMG_3776[1] IMG_3773[1] IMG_3785[1] IMG_3783[1] IMG_3778[1]

[Unit Of Inquiry]

UOI- Sharing the planet.

Central Idea-People interact with, use and value the natural environment in different ways.

Learners did the read aloud of a book called,” The Magical Gamla pot” (written by Trupti Godbole, Govind Mukundan, Poonam Biskasturi and illustrated by Radha Ramachandran).Thereafter they were able to make a connection with the central idea as their conceptual understanding of responsibilities towards natural environment was cleared. They made the same in class with the help of their teacher and could understand the process of getting manure for their plants.
Two more read alouds were done in class – Why should I save water? and Why should I recycle?(written by Jen Green and illustrated by Mike Gordon) through these two books learners got to know about the importance of reducing water wastage and different ways of recycling things.

Oral and Aural activity:

Learners watched the video of the song “Boom chikaa boom” thereafter they performed it along with their teacher. They were asked to listen to it carefully, identify the repeating words and the different actions in the video. They performed great as they could identify the title track of the video, then they could identify  different actions with different voice modulations. The outcome that was expected from them was that all learners should listen to the song carefully as well as be able to identify the words and the actions (as they watched it twice). It is a part of their oral and aural activity as they have started listening carefully by reflecting their understanding… Great going!!!

Language

Dictation of the sight words was conducted.

Learners enjoyed I-pad session.

Homework

Frame a sentence on the words given in the language notebook:

chain

chalk

ship

shine

Note: Kindly encourage your child to read one book daily.

Have an awesome weekend!!
