How The World Works
Tuning in of “Heatâ€ÂÂ:
The teacher took students out in the sun and they were asked to sit there for some time. Later the teacher took an inquiry in the classroom and asked students about how they felt. Students reflected that they felt hot because of the sun. Later the teacher discussed the heat element and students gave real life examples for the same.
 Property of heat:
1.Objects expand when heated:
Teacher demonstrated an activity with the help of a thermometer and water.First the teacher took some hot water and dipped the thermometer in it, then asked students to observe the  mercury present in the thermometer. Later, she did the same using cold water. Then, a discussion was conducted where the teacher recorded the difference in the answer for both the scenarios. After this teacher discussed the 1st property†that objects expand when heatedâ€ÂÂ.
2. Property: Heat can be transformed from one object to another.
4 exploration tables were kept and students were divided in groups of 5. On each table one beaker with hot water and another with cold water was kept. Students were asked to explore. Later teacher took an inquiry and students reflected that when they mixed the hot and cold water, the water became warm .After this students also reflected on  real life connections .

Sight words:
New sight words for this week- this, those, that, hear, funny, money, jump, turn, head. Learners wrote these sight words, 3 times in their notebook and framed sentences orally, before writing it in their book.
Revision of articles- a, an and the
Math
The teacher checked the prior knowledge of students for the concept of subtraction on an A4 sheet.They were asked them to draw or write whatever they know about subtraction.Students reflected very well on their  prior knowledge by drawing and writing subtraction sums or word problems.

Circle time : Daily grammar
1) Apostrophe’s’ and punctuation mark ‘,’ comma was introduced.
E.g.: My friend’s name is Rachit.
She has my pen, paper and card.
Language :
New sight words for this week– this, those, that, hear, funny, money, jump, turn, head
Learners wrote these sight words, 3 times in their notebook and framed sentences
orally, before writing it in their book.
Word family-
-air†word family was introduced.
Learners made words using the -air word family 3 times in their notebook and then
framed sentences using the words- air, hair, chair, fair, pair, and stair.
Revision of blend ‘st and sm’ and the family ‘-one’.
Learner practiced prepositions in ‘The Cat in the Hat’ workbook.
Math : Subtraction
1.  The teacher checked the prior knowledge of students for the concept of subtraction on an A4 sheet.They were asked them to draw or write whatever they know about subtraction.Students reflected very well on their  prior knowledge by drawing and writing subtraction sums or word problems.
2. Introduction of subtraction facts  : After tuning into subtraction, the teacher constructed meaning by asking them subtraction facts from 0-0 to 9-9. Learners wrote the same in their math notebooks.
