Grade 09 Coordinated Science highlights

Grade 9 Coordinated science studied plant transport in which they studied the structure of xylem and phloem. They also learnt how plant takes in water and transports it to leaf, how water moves up against gravity using pressure created by transpiration, factors affecting rate of transpiration , how transpiration rate is measured using potometer and adaptations of desert plants and aquatic plants.They performed an experiment using cobalt chloride paper to check which part of the leaf has more rate of transpiration.

Learners learned ascending order with a fun game i.e. fire in the mountain run.. run.. run.. when the teacher said stop and announced 3 numbers, learners had to check their given number and then had to present themselves into ascending order. They enjoyed this play based learning and also got clear insight of the concept.

This activity helped in enhancing their Fine motor skills.

Play based activity: Float and sink

Learners were given bucket full of water and were given different materials like stones, scissor, thermocol glass, magnets. paper, Rajma, plastic toys etc. and were asked to keep it in the bucket and observe which things sink and which things float?? 
This way they learnt the concept of float and sink.
This activity helped in enhancing their Thinking and visual skills.

Learners were given magnifying glass and were asked to look and observe the books, display and things around them in the class.After the activity they were asked to share what difference they felt while using the glass. They shared that we were able to see things small and big and were able to see small small things very clearly.

Grade 1 Gujarati assessment Note

Dear parents,

Gujarati assessment will be taken from 19th March onwards in their respective Gujarati classes. Kindly prepare your child for the same. We have done all the topics in their respective classes for Topic presentation. Students have to take one  chit and they have to speak 5-7 lines in Gujarati about the topic.
