Library: Learners were issued books from the library.

Read aloud: My Apron written by Eric Carle.

Language: Learners were shown a story “A little red hen” and were given some questions related to the story for which they had to write their answers in their language notebook.

Math: Learners revised the concept of numbers through a worksheet.

U.O.I.: Learners were explained the summative assessment task of How we express ourselves unit. They were also shown and explained the rubric of the assessment in detail. Learners will be given sometime tomorrow to practice for their summative assessment.

Circle Time: Learners attempted “Stop and Think” worksheet.

Homework: Language worksheet is given as homework.

Settling Task:

Learners had to draw their own hairstyle in their settling task notebook.

[Unit Of Inquiry]

Learners decided the artforms which they are going to present for summative assessment.

Language

Learners watched a story “The Little Red Hen” and answered the following questions in their notebooks.

1. What is the moral of the story?
2. What L.P. attribute the hen followed?
3. How did the friends behave with the hen?
4. Name the characters from the story.
5. Did the hen share the cake with her friends? Why?

Math

Learners did a worksheet on ways to write a number.They also wrote addition facts for the number 25 in their notebook.

Homework

Language:

Learners have to do the given worksheet.

NOTE:

Learners who have selected art forms like Rangoli , Bead work and Alpona for their summative assessment need to bring rangoli colors , beads (small beads used in moti bharat) and rice paste(rice flour+water) from home.

Note for Grade 6 “Bhasha Divas” – Gujarati Language ‘Mono acting’ competition

Dear Parents,

We will be celebrating “Bhasha Divas” from 3rd  September to 17th September 2014  and have planned in Gujarati   Mono-acting competition for students of Grade 6.  Appreciation certificate will be given to students who  get marks above  25 out of 30.Those students who get above 25 points out of 30 will go in final round.After final round 3 winners will be chosen. Points will be given to the related house and winners name & house name will be declared in the Assembly.

Selection will be done on the basis of

Learners wrote “How many members are there in their family?” and they had to skip count it by 3’s four times.

Language

Language Development: Learners revised grammar concepts through Language with Ease reference book.

[Unit Of Inquiry]

1) Learners selected the art forms which they are going to present during the summative assessment.

2) Learners practiced for their summative assessment task in the class.

Math

Learners did a worksheet on “Different ways to write a number”. They also wrote addition facts of 35.

Homework

Learners have to do the given worksheet.

Settling time:

Learners read class library books.

Math

Learners did sorting out learning engagement to revise the concept of “Odd and Even” numbers. They were given mixed set of 4- digit numbers. They sorted out those numbers in Odd and Even numbers in their math notebook.

Learners wrote addition facts for 15 and 22 in a given sheet.

Unit of Inquiry

Learners discussed the art forms of Gujarati, Marathi and Bengali cultures in detail and wrote the same in their U.O.I. notebook.

Homework

Learners have to do the given Language Worksheet.
