Settling Time:

Learners drew a different hair style for themselves.

Unit of Inquiry:

Learners discussed about the artforms of all the cultures (Marathi, Gujarati and Bengali) in detail. They also made connection with the TDT charts. Later they were explained the rubric for the current unit in detail.

Language:

Learners revised the dictation words of the week.

Language Development:

Learners revised the grammar concept through Language with Ease reference book.

Math:

Learners revised all the math concepts done so far.

Read aloud:

Kitty shows kindness by Mary Manz Simon.

Homework:

Language worksheet given.

Dear students,

The summative assessment for the  “Phoenix” scheduled for September 04 has been postponed to September 11th (day 04 next week).

Since there is ample time to prepare (considering you all must have prepared for the Phoenix) There is a slight addition. Now please come prepared with:

  • The Phoenix
  • Merchant of Venice (Act 1/Scene 1 and 2)

UOI:

TDT: How the world works

1. The students reflected their understanding about central idea and key concepts of the unit in their reflection journals (scrap books).

2. The teacher did different experiments to make the students understand relationship between air and sound.

Learning intention: To understand relationship between air and sound.

3. Unpack the central idea:

Students understand the different properties of air, sound and light. With the help of word explosions, they framed their own central idea. Later on, the teacher introduced the actual central idea to them.

Learning intention: To understand the different properties of air, sound and light as real life connections.

Language:

Reading assessment was taken.

Math:

1. Students revised standard and expanded form in their notebook

Learning intention: To help students reflect on their learning.

Homework:

Solve the given Math worksheet.

UOI:

TDT: How the world works

Settling task: Students gave dictation in  their Language notebook.

Learning Outcome: To know students understanding of the concepts taught so far.


UOI: Students discussed about videos of digestive, excretory and nervous system.
Students selected one system to present as their assessment from the 3 systems- Digestive, Nervous and Excretory.They were given options of making charts, PPT, models,scrap book with diagrams or searching video and explaining the video like we do in class. They were provided with charts and chrome books to prepare for the same. 
 
Teacher gave the following guided questions: 1. Function of your system. 2. Name of the organs in your systems and its function. 3. Do and dont’s of your system. 4. How your system is connected to other systems. 5. Labelled diagram of your system. They were also explained and guided to write the important details about the Unit [ie. TDT, Central Idea, Key Concepts, Lines of inquiry and Skills].
 
Learning outcome: To enhance their research skills.
 
 
 
AIE: Students heard a book from raz-kids- level K- ‘Anna and the magic coat.’ and attempted the quiz.
 
Learning Outcome: To assess their listening skills.

UOI: Watch the following links and read the given tutorials thoroughly and select any one system to present as the assessment from the 3 systems- Digestive, Nervous and Excretory following the guided questions: 
1. Function of your system. 2. Name of the organs in your systems and its function. 3. Do and dont’s of your system. 4. How your system is connected to other systems. 5. Labelled diagram of your system.6. Process of the system.
Note:- You can prepare the model / draw the diagram / bring the unlabelled cutouts of  your system from home, but you have to label it in school.
