Highlights of the day :

UOI – Learners continued to work on their  charts according to the topic and  information that they had under the heading ‘Our  research using BIG 6′ for the Summative Assessment.

Language :  Learners constructed meaning of how to use descriptive words to describe a person in a paragraph. A picture of Narendra Modi was shown on the LCD, which was used to describe him through a mind map .

Homework :

Language : Complete the worksheet on Chapter 4 of Charlotte’s Web

Settling Time: Learners had to add the fans and the tube lights of Grade 2 Dream and Wonder.

Learners did “What a racquet” worksheet.

[Language]

Learners solved comprehension worksheet where they read the story in groups as well as individually. Later on, they sorted and wrote pronouns, common nouns, adjectives, conjunctions, verbs and prepositions from the same.

Empowering English- Learners were taught “Story Making” from this reference book given in Chapter 8- “Story making- I”. They also tried making story from the 5 ‘W’s’ grid i.e. “Who, What, When, Where and Why” given in the chapter.

[Math]

Learners did sorting out learning engagement to revise the concept of “Odd and Even” numbers. They were given mixed set of 4- digit numbers. They sorted out those numbers in Odd and Even numbers in their math notebook.

Learners wrote different ways to make 25 in math notebook. For example: 24 + 1, 100 – 75, etc.

[Unit Of Inquiry]

Learners discussed the art forms of Gujarati and Marathi cultures in detail and wrote the same in their UOI notebook.

[Homework]

Learners needs to make a short story using the 5 “W’s” given in Empowering English reference book in the notebook which is provided to them.

Learners need to complete the language worksheet given.

Note: Attendance badges for the month of August was given today.

Highlights:

UOI: The learners prepared charts on the given topic using the Big 6 research.

 

Language: The teacher completed the read aloud of chapter 4 from the reader and explained a worksheet based on it. The teacher started up the descriptive writing using the mind map.

Homework:

UOI: Tomorrow is the last day of submitting the journal with the cover page.

Language: Complete the given worksheet on chapter 4 of the reader.

Day 5:

Settling task: Students gave the spelling test of the words learnt in the current Unit in their UOI book.

[Unit Of Inquiry] Students selected one system of their choice out of the three systems (Nervous, Digestive and Excretory system), to present as their Summative Assessment. They were given options of making charts, PPT, scrap book with diagrams or searching video and explaining the video like as we do in class. They were provided with charts and chrome books to prepare for the same.

The teacher gave the following guiding questions:
1. Function of your system.
2. Name of the organs in your systems and its function.
3. Do’s and dont’s of your system.
4. How your system is connected to other systems.
5. Labelled diagram of your system.
They were also explained and guided to write the important details about the Unit [ie. TDT, Central Idea, Key Concepts, Lines of inquiry and Skills].
[Language] Students gave Summative Assessment.

Learning Outcome:To know students’ understanding of the concepts taught so far.
[Homework] 1) UOI: Watch the videos and go through the tutorials for your SA. Prepare well for your presentation of the assessment as per your selected system. Look for the guided questions and other details as mentioned above in UOI for your presentation.
Note:– You can prepare the model / draw the diagram / bring the unlabelled cutouts of  your system from home, but you have to label it in school.

Highlights  :

  • વિદ્યાર્થીઓને Air tracing દ્વારા મૂળાક્ષરોનું પુનરાવર્તન કરાવવામાં આવ્યું. સ્વર અને વ્યંજન લેખિત અને મૌખિક રૂપે બાળકોને શીખવામાં આવ્યા.
  • ‘પરીન’ પુસ્તકમાંથી ‘પરીન અને ચિપ્પી ચી’ વાર્તા નું વાંચન કરવામાં આવ્યું અને વાર્તામાંથી વિદ્યાર્થીઓએ મૂળાક્ષરો શોધ્યા તથા ‘અ’ માત્રા ના શબ્દો પર ગોળાકાર કર્યા. –

Note for Grade 5 “Hindi Bhasha Divas” Mono-acting competition

Dear Parents,

We will be celebrating “Bhasha Divas” from 3rd  September to 17th September 2014  and have planned in Hindi   Mono-acting competition for students of Grade 5. Time limit for Mono-acting is 2 minutes.  Appreciation certificate will be given to students who  get marks above  25 out of 30.Those students who get above 25 points out of 30 will go in final round.After final round 3 winners will be chosen. Points will be given to the related house and winners name & house name will be declared in the Assembly.
