Dear parents,

This week we primarily focused on completion of Act 2 in Merchant of Venice. The children were acquainted with the fact that most of the diction that we use in our day to day conversation comes from Shakespeare. We discussed power struggles in the play and how relationships are similar or different under different social circumstances.

This week also witnessed Book-club sessions where the children read out their book reviews and shared their recommendations.

By next week we shall begin with the revision and the plan will be shared on Blog.

Regards

Vagisha.

Hi all,

This week we had revision classes, for speaking as well as for writing. We modelled a speaking test in class to familiarize ourselves with the process.

For writing, we used translation as a means mainly to distinguish between the sentence constructions of the languages that we think in and the language that we are learning.

Apart, we ended the week with a general unit test.

Regards,

Smruti

Hi all,

We took a unit test today. We revised in the previous classes of the week, for the speaking test and the writing part. The writing part, we used translation as a tool mainly because we think in one language while we have to produce our task in a different language. We then, had to distinguish between the vocabulary and the structures of the two languages in question.

Regards,

Smruti

Hi all,

This week we postponed the test to the next week, Day 4, Monday and had revision classes, where through translation, we learnt construction of sentences. The idea was to differentiate between the structures in both languages. This was essential mainly because we think in one language and the language we are learning is vastly different.

Regards,

Smruti
