Central Idea : Authors and illustrators express themselves in a variety of ways.
Read aloud of the book ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã…â€œThomasÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢ snowsuitÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã‚Â by Robert Munsch.
The students read the book ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â‚¬Å“ ThomasÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢ snowsuit by Robert Munsch and identified the writing style and illustrating style of the author and illustrator. (The book is written by Robert Munsch and illustrated by Michael Martchenko)
Learning intention: To help students understand the writing and illustrating styles of authors and illustrators.
1)Assessment of ordinal numbers and estimation was taken.
Learning intention: To help students reflect on their learning.
1)Students were introduced to describing words through an activity.
Learning intention: To help students enhance their vocabulary.
2)EE: Chapter 5: Page number 25: Students revised few words like, pin, ice, dish, fix, lie, tight, dice and fire to enhance their reading skills.
Learning intention: To help students enhance their reading skills.
Students revised the ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã…â€œkwÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã‚Â sound with words like, queen, quack, question, quilt and quote to enhance their reading skills
Learning intention: To help students pronounce words correctly.
Language :Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â Read chapter no.5, My Fluffy cat from the Empowering English reference book and underline the verbs and circle the nouns in the EE book.

Grade 5 Synergy Highlights and Homework – 29th Sep’14
UOI: Students watched related to emotional and social well – being. They annotated the learning keeping in mind the 4 I-Wall questions.
Language: Empowering English- Chapter 15 ‘Prelutsky Poems’ ‘I Met A Rat Of Culture’.
Students wrote the questions and answers of the task questions.
Math: Division of decimal numbers numerically.
UOI – Complete the answers of the I- Wall questions in the booklet for video session all the six videos watched till now and the ‘Body Image’ guest speaker session by Nipurna Ma’am.
Language: Write any one stanza from the poem ‘I Met A Rat Of Culture’ which you liked the most and explain why did you like that stanza?

Note: Todays video on Food and Nutrition which was left half way in the class.
As already discussed in the class, we’ve completed the activity, reading as well as explanation part of Stave 4 of Christmas Carol. Kindly read the stave at home and if there’s any difficulty or doubt, please be prepared to have a discussion about it in the class on Wednesday.

They revised the concept of more than, less than, addition and subtraction. They were provided chits with addition and subtraction sums in pairs. They were also provided chits having ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã…â€œMake ___ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã‚Â, ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã…â€œMore than ___ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã‚Â and ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã…â€œLess than ___ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã‚Â.
Resources provided- Glue stick, chits(make 55/ more than 55/ Less thanÃƒâ€šÃ‚Â 55) and A3 size paper.
Learners did grammar concepts for Language with ease reference book.

Grade 3 Imbue, Recap of the day – Day 4- 29 sept ’14
UOI:Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â Clay Activity: Learners made different characters / model using clay. They also presented a story related to theÃƒâ€šÃ‚Â characters. Further, they answered the following prompts in the scrap book:
(1) Name theÃƒâ€šÃ‚Â character.
(2) Why you chose to make thisÃƒâ€šÃ‚Â character?
Learning outcome- To enhance their imagination.
Math -Certain doubts related toÃƒâ€šÃ‚Â Bar GraphÃƒâ€šÃ‚Â were cleared . Students attempted another bar graph based on the following data. (No. of ice-cream cones sold in week 1,2,3,4,5 …)100,200,400,500,250.
Learning Outcome: To enhance the data handling skills.
Empowering English: Learners recited the poem ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã…â€œThe owl and the pussy catÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã‚Â with expressions and voice modulation.
