Day 2 – Tuesday:

Settling Task:- Students parsed the (Week 8 – Day 1) sentence in their LWE book.

Math

 Students gave their Formative Assessment for Multiplication using all 4 methods.

Learning Outcome:- To know the students understanding and learning of Multiplication.

Xbox practice was done.

Homework: Please learn the script those who haven’t. Practice with expressions of the character you are playing.

Highlights of the day – 11th November.

Language: We had a tuning-in activity of introducing the reader “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone”. Learners were keen to share their prior knowledge about the character Harry Potter on the “Mind-Map” and through the learning engagement “Walk the Line”. We also watched video on the biography of the author J.K. Rowling followed by a short clip on the movie based on the same novel. Learners were excited to have their own copy of the reader and enjoyed the 20-minute session of reading with highlighting the adjectives, nouns and the new vocabulary they came across while reading.

Math: learners attempted few sums as to revise the concepts taught on the percentage topic.

Homework:
Language: Read the page number 11- 18 of the chapter – ” The Boy who lived” from the reader. Underline/highlight the adjectives, nouns and the new vocabulary you come across while reading. Use your index diary to note down the new vocabulary learnt. You also need to identify and write the unusual event in this chapter in the EE notebook.

Math: Paste the pictures of items to be put on sale on the A4 paper given to you all.

Note -: You all should bring Index Diary and dictionary daily to the school.

Settling Task: Learners did addition in different ways.

[Math]

Learners revised the concept of clock orally and solved a fun worksheet to enhance their thinking skills.

[Circle Time]

Learners played a game “Treasure hunt” where there were various chits hidden in the class related to the class and they had to write the answer for the same. They did this activity in their 9 o’clock groups. The group to get all the answers first was the winning team.

The activity was done as a welcome back for the students.

10th November: Learners shared their Diwali trips and their experiences for the same in the class.

Dear Parents/Students,

Below are the names of the students who have been selected for the athletics talent hunt program. It will take place tomorrow At the R.I.G Gymkhana, on Wednesday 12th November, 2014. Students will leave from school at 8:00 am sharp. Students will need to carry their original birth certificate along with a xerox copy. Middle Year students will need to come to school with the primary year students bus route.

[Highlight Of The Day]

[Math] Student designed a short formative assessment on the topics covered in the percentage unit so far for their peer. They solved the peer assessment and got it checked by  them too. This gave them a sense of ownership towards their learning and an opportunity for self reflection. 

[Language] Introduction of  the reader ‘Harry Potter’ using the walk the line strategy and brainstorming activity to test their prior knowledge. The student saw a short promo of the  movie based on the reader ‘Harry Potter and the  sorcerer’s stone.’ 

[Homework]

[Language]  Reading and Writing -: Read the pages 11-18.Identify the peculiar events occurring in this reading. Do this activity in the EE NB.

 

[Math] 

For ‘Math mela’ collect 10 pictures of items you want to put for sale. For eg, watch, shoes, T-shirt, book CB sleeve, USB, skin etc.. Stick 5 picture on one sheet and and the remaining 5 on another sheet. 

Write your name on the sheet provided and also mention sheet 1 and sheet 2.

If you wish, write a price for your item underneath the image with pencil in a smaller font.
